Someone wants you to make a call to Chicago?

Yes the ticketspitters number is in Chicago, and the email reply I got from them was from an IP in Chicago.

D'oh!
My bad.
I didn't think to compare the phone number hidden in the haiku with the one found, previously.

From the PA forums, posted by TimS:
Quote:
Hello Penny Arcade Forum folks.

First of all... let me apologize for severely breaking our would-be viral marketing fun-machine. After GDC there were no hits to the front page of the campaign for a long time, and I had figured it was dead. I should NOT have made that post on the indiegamer forums tying the whole thing back to myself... .

There also should not have been an un-stained image of the repair invoice left in the images folder... . The only way you were supposed to be able to get the phone number was by extracting it from the haiku (or by reading spoilers I suppose). The whole thing was supposed to be harder than it was... ah well. Next time.

So yeah -- a broken viral marketing game. Sorry about that. I'm new.

Also, the whole thing wasn't intended to lead anyone to my silly little blog, but rather to www.ghostshipstudios.com, as all of the madness involved throughout the game was taken from the 'plot' points of our upcoming indie game Blobyrinth: Maze Island Quest.

I hope nobody feels cheated out of actual COOL pot-o-gold-at-the-end-of-the-rainbow stuff. I didn't really intend to mislead... only to confuse. (although admittedly we did see the Blizzard/Starcraft thing coming).

You guys have provided us with a LOT of entertainment in one day of posting, and we thank you for that. I really hope that you were entertained as well. Everyone who emailed the tearsofapharoah address up to this point (there are 15 of you) will get a free download of the full version of the game when it's done.

Some of you will get cool extra stuff, for extra effort.

Thanks again.

[edit] : I should add that it's extra sad that now we're getting traffic to the site, and we STILL don't even have a downloadable demo for our site visitors : WAAAH [/edit]

-Tim

Looks like this is a bust, but was fun while it lasted. Thanks for the day of fun Tim Smile
