I'm here. I've put in emails and calls to two historians from Green-Wood Cemetery. There is a book signing there on Sunday with one of the historians so I may see him there.

Does banging my head against the wall count?

Looks like I got in just at the right time! I'm using the lag time to get caught up.

Don't think it's a wall. Somewhere in this forum is a thread that says the PMs are running the game in chapters. We just may be between chapters right now.

Maybe, but I was kind of hoping that something would happen at of the chapter, that something would be resolved.

unless i'm mistaken there are still a few things that havn't been solved, right?
- Photos from packages
- Circled Words
- Book Pages other than those used for the SentryOutpost.Com location
- Boil.c
- the whole Chorazos Connection
- The MUD
---
I know that ongoing research and analysis is going on with this stuff, but you have to admit that it's not being persued with the same fervor as the Psychic puzzle was.
Maybe the game is stalled because we havn't been pushing it along by continuing to solve the problems...
It's supposed to be episodic, but episodes have a beginning, a middle, and an end, and i can't see anything that would indicate the end of phase 1.

I followed this game from the beginning and I am losing interest right now. The finding of the MUD was some sort of breakthrough, but what happened after that ? Nothing. Nothing that indicates that the MUD is important or expanding the MUD is important. Just a little 'old time toy' so far. I have no idea what to do next. So many loose ends in this story. And I think it is a bit strange that the ingame characters pretending they are playing along with us.

I'm not sure what is going on, although we seem to be in a lull.
In any event, I spoke to one Greenwood historian who wasn't sure what the angel could be. He kept asking me for more details. He also said it might be in another cemetery, one in the Bronx called Woodlawn, which is very hard to get photographs of as they require permits.
One interesting thing: one famous angel sculpture from Greenwood is missing her whole hand. I can't find the image of it now, it is the one that is a copy of another famous statue, with the angel weeping and laying over the grave. It seems the hand fell off and then was left lying on the ground for several years before someone finally stole it. (why the cemetery didn't pick it up for safe keeping is a different question.) It did make me wonder if the idea of the missing finger laying on the ground for a long time came from this cemetery.
He also explained that an angel with the finger pointing to heaven was a typical protestant design, so he is fairly sure she would be in a protestant, not Catholic cemetery. If he is right and if she is a real sculpture and if she is in New York, we have narrowed it down to an area of less than 500 acres total. Woo.
He was quite curious about this game and asks tons of questions. I didn't spend too much time explaining ARGs to him because his computer wasn't working, but I'm hoping to rope him in as an ARG player one of these days. A knowledgeable and curious historian will bring a lot to games.

That's pretty awesome that you did that rose, even if it didn't lead to anything obviously game-related!
I sure wish that we had some idea** -- any idea -- of what was going on with this game right now. Is it dead? Is it on pause? Are we being stupid about something? Is the lull part of an episodic break? Without new CLs, it becomes very clear just how little else to go on there is at the moment...
**a mini meta rant is brewing in my head about one of the detriments of having a curtain between players and PMs, for situations such as this one.

The thing is that there is in this instance an explicit go-between that is yielding no information.

Well, the fact that this Stu character and his lack of communication has been brought up twice in a very short span of time. Would you say he's gone all Bryce yet?

I've been wondering about Howard too - Marie said she's been in contact with him and he'd be back "after the weekend" (IIRC) but there's been nothing. Does that suggest the character has "gone Bryce" or that there are META problems we're not supposed to poke at?
