looking in the source, theres a mention of ro.jpg;
http://27.com./ro.jpg

I'm probably just going to lurk, here, but I have to say that that picture reminds me of Stephen King's character, Randall Flagg.
Among his many trademarks were a smiley face button and the fact that people have a hard time seeing his face.
Course it may have nothing to do with it, just what I saw in the pic.
EDIT: Looking closer, that mask he's wearing looks A LOT like the superhero, Rorschach's.

That's definitely Rorschach. Possible advertisement for a Watchmen movie?

That would be SO AWESOME!
But I wonder what the Watchmen have to do with Halo 3...
Could this be a part of the Rorschach's Journal Trailhead?
UPDATE: Turns out there IS going to be a Watchmen move.
God bless Wikipedia.

Let's hope they don't screw it up like they V for Vendetta....

That jpg is a test shot that Zach Snyder did and then inserted into a trailer for '300' (he directed 300 and is directing Watchmen). I've had it as a wallpaper for about 6 months now.

Nothing. Halo and 27.com have in the past been mistaken to be related, but it's OOG. Though this change in 27.com is weird. Very weird.

Oh, I see.
Well, weird is good. Very good.
I'm gonna keep an eye on this one.
(hmm... should this be in news and rumors?)

UPDATE
the site has changed again, now a blurred background with several sums and the words "you can live there if you want to but I'm not going near it".
any ideas?

I've tried looking up the source, and have been messing with the ItsATrap.gif image, but nothing yet.
