I don't know if we've hit a dead end on this, but I was rethinking the riddle.

What if court means courtyard? Maybe this does have something to do with the pub. According to http://www.danieljackson.co.uk/pubs/pub/CharlesXII/, "the large outside drinking area is very popular in summer."

Or maybe I should just post a reply to Vjails, asking if he's figured anything out.

Ask V ... I've been trying to rack my brain about this riddle, I think now that the swedenborg/3073/database is our best lead. But I've been wrong before (alot).

This is just fustrating though, its like there is 1 degree of freedom that we are not getting (either from oversight or not getting from PM)

the number

I'm not sure if I'm just sleep deprived or my brain is just bouncing in too many directions....but, about the number...i've played weith 6001 and 3073 with any number of additional words...and every one brings up the same page saying ..."...not all of the answers lie where they seem"....however, only 3073 also gives us "might be the answer to a riddle" and "the internet is vast"

also...the fool of King Charles' court was Thomas Killigrew and Voltaire did many writings about King Charles XII.....also, riddles were the standard fare of the court jester(fool)....I feel like I'm on a track to something, here but I can't pull it together....has anyone researched any of these? do I just need to get some sleep and look at this again later?

thank you for putting up with me thinking out loud!

hugs, mama

The PM took pity on us.

From V's latest blog post:

Quote:

I've found out where to use the 3073!
Stoney said he had checked myspace, flickr and IMDB, so I decided to check that as well. Eventually I entered 3073 as a number in the adress bar at the IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0003073/) and found a random movie. I checked the message board, and there it is; the next message from max! Smile

by ttocserpxam:

Perhaps it was the flickr of a candle, which set the capital ablaze.

Pray tell: 'Forty-three if eager hate.'

I'm looking in to what this could mean and I wonder where Max will lead us next..

V.

Been watching this - I would have never gotten the clue. I am taking note of the fact that 2 clues had mispellings in them - don't know if that it is intentional or not, but just noting it for later (were for where and flickr for flicker). Could be nothing.

Yeah, if anyone can figure out where we were SUPPOSED to have gotten to IMDB from, that would probably be helpful. Were we just supposed to try every site on the Internet until we found it? Smile

Unfortunetly I'm quite busy today so I don't have alot of time, but I'll just say that "Forty-three if eager hate" kinda feels like an anagram to me. I did some quick work with the anagram server, but nothing leapt out at me (except that "therefore" does appear).

And I think its pretty obvious that if we search on Flickr.com for the keywords decoded from the clue we'll find our next breadcrumb.

That's what I got as well, but I have yet to find anything relevant on flicker.

"if eager hate" could also =

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
a figure eight

Just a thought, but I've found nothing particularly relevant on Flickr as of yet, with either option.

I agree with your guess. That is what I thought as soon as I sounded it out. I checked on flickr site using that for a search as well as the number version, but no luck yet.

I believe that the photo of King Charles XII was named "database.jpg". If you went to wikopedia where there is the same exact photo, and checked the name of that photo, it is apparant that the photo on the max site was renamed. So I was searching for a database, but unfortunately searched for a King Charles XII database, not a movie database. I would have never thought to check a movie database. But I have no experience in these types of games/mysteries.

I getthe database referance, and the internet part I can sorta get from "the internet is vast". but there was no clue for the movie part (that I saw).

Now Im thinking about this next clue and the 1st part is about a candle and a capital burning down.

and I think that the 2nd part describes which photo we are looking for.

Anyone know of a capital that burned down from a candle?

My first thought was the White House. http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/washingtonsack.htm
