IM with Dale "Fishermen of legend" follow-up

Okay... I actually got home in time to talk with dale... here's how the chat went down: (Important part bolded)

the42guy: If you get a chance, I'd like to know if you know what "fishermen of legend, generations" means. Shadowtalk1 told me it was one of his faces, and it is really quite baffling. Now, I must go, I'll stay online - but if you need clarification, feel free to ask any of the people chatting with you. Thanks!
synthasiadale: ill talk to you soon, OK?
*** Auto-response sent to synthasiadale: I am currently away from the computer.
the42guy: I'm back now, did you have any clarification questions for me?
synthasiadale: what do you mean? I'm not sure I understand
the42guy: okay, let me get it for you
synthasiadale: thanks
the42guy: Okay, I had this chat with shadowtalk1...
the42guy: the42guy: who are the guides?
shadowtalk1: the guides
shadowtalk1: which guides?
the42guy: the red and blue guides
the42guy: the mythosphere guides
shadowtalk1: the mythosphere guides
shadowtalk1: one of many
shadowtalk1: names
the42guy: whose names? what other names are there?
shadowtalk1: fishermen
shadowtalk1: of legend
shadowtalk1: generations
the42guy: Who are the fishermen of legend? of generations?
shadowtalk1: protectors
the42guy: Who are they protecting?
the42guy: Can you tell me who they are protecting?

the42guy: then, he left
the42guy: I wondered if you knew what he meant
synthasiadale: ok hold on I'm looking for a reference
synthasiadale: sorry I cant find the link I was looking for but I'll try and explain if I can
the42guy: okay, go for it
synthasiadale: one second, one more thing I'm checking
synthasiadale: OK from what I remember
the42guy: alright
synthasiadale: one of the names that servants of the avalon/holy grail legends had in the past were "the fishermen"
the42guy: hmm
synthasiadale: they were tied in with the Joseph of Arimathea legends in some way
the42guy: humph
synthasiadale: that was the possible connection I found for the "fishermen" name
the42guy: okay
the42guy: well
the42guy: hopefully this will all make more sense soon... thank you so much for answering my question!
synthasiadale: no problem sorry for the delays I'm dealing with too many IMs at once
the42guy: yah, I imagine

So BarbarellaNY brought up some more info...

Joseph hid the grail in a spring. On the monetary side is where they go for holy water and to purify themselves, and on the Avalons side is the spring that Excalibur is empowered in/the magic is bound in.
He brought up to dale that this could connect to the Lake of Tears.

synthasiadale (11:09:40 PM): hmm interesting idea

Anyhow... this could mean the Lake of Tears is somehow magical (perhaps even a way to contact the guides semi-physically?)
A high-powered being (or Lady of the Lake) might have access.

Anyhow... here are some informational pages.
http://wynkyn.com/avalon.htm (search [no quotes] "Joseph" for relevant part)
http://users.erols.com/saintpat/ss/0317.htm (Which actually talks about fishermen in connection with Patrick of Ireland)
http://www.worldgospelcollege.net/importan.html
http://www.britannia.com/history/arthur/chalwell.html [Added in]

Okay, well, I'll probably add a few more interesting results, but thats it for now.
