Very interesting. That's cool that you asked him, Shirley.

One thing about the password, and this may have been mentioned before, is that it probably isn't an English word because of the international aspect of their website. Most likely a number or a name. Just wanted to reiterate.

Interesting.

I wrote to the people at sacredmythsandlegends.com yesterday and said this:

"Hello. I have a question.

Can you tell me if you plan to update the password portions of the
website for the 4th, 5th, and 6th puzzle (they currently read "coming
soon")? And if so, when an update might be forthcoming?

Thanks again for the help."

They wrote back with this:

"I have just checked the site under Get a hint and they are in fact
functional...do you have an old link saved maybe?"

I sent them a screenshot of the page explaining that the PASSWORD page was not working.

TODAY they have an entirely new website! Hah!

With what looks like a forum link (not currently active).

BUT. At least we can now try passwords for the other puzzles.

I'm sure Adventurik is right, the password is most likely a date or a name that's spelt the same in several languages, as the clues in French and English are identical. That suggests a person's name rather than a place or thing which are usually different between the languages.

Given the earlier discussion on telescopes and symmetries I came up with a possible answer. I typed it into the website, and although I don't think it's the right answer, the website now won't let me enter any more guesses. Instead of the normal "Wrong key, try again message", it now says "You already solved this puzzle !". Looks like it thinks I got it ... I suspect I didn't and that the new website has a bug Razz

Equation

In looking at the T, W, Fp expression on the board, I see small arrows on top of each letter. They all point to the right. Means nothing to me, but may to someone else.

This idea might be a stretch to force an 'expression' into an equation, but the diagram in the instructions at the bottom of one of the pages begins with "E=". An expression might be the rest of that equation.

Also "E=". What follows is a set of lines roughly resembling a telescope, and the letters F, G, H, I are not in that order rather, F, H, I, G. Could this represent the 'picture reversal' somehow?

And, thanks to Shirley for getting their web site up to speed. This means we now have five passwords, rather than two, to figure out. Just joking, Shirley, glad you got something going with them.

That is probably a safe bet. However, they do have different pages on the site for the different languages. So, its possible that the password language might not matter.

I will send them an email about it and see if they respond to my inquiry.

Just got this:

Passwords are all the same. Language is irrelevant!
The Password pages are being updated today, check back tomorrow!

Best Regards,
Kristina

Legend of the King password

While The Equation password page is being repaired, my thoughts on the next one:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Hint 1: Stones are within Magic's control – one on its own, the others from Eire. (from the Legend of the King scroll)
Eire is Ireland, when I was growing up there we had a legend that giants brought huge stones to Ireland from Africa to build a place of healing called the Giant's Ring, and that Merlin the wizard magically took them ("within Magic's control" ?) to build Stonehenge. This puzzle has other elements of the Arthurian legend (e.g. the hint "With or without The Equation, proper positioning is needed to release Excalibur and free the Legend. ", the round table on the puzzle, the Legend of the King (Arthur) etc. etc.), so Merlin fits in too.

Hint 2: They are of nature's fury (from the website)
No idea

Hint 3: From Eire the giants came with healing stones (from the website)
This fits with what I mentioned in the first bit, healing stones and Irish giants, except we had it that the giants brought the stones TO Ireland, not FROM Ireland.

Legend Of The King Password

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I am totally with you on Stonehenge. I have been working at this one for days.

I have been trying everything I can think of regarding Stonehenge and the Arthurian legend surrounding it.

Everything from Sarsen Stones to the coordinates of Stonehenge (numeric, obviously) to the heel stone... to the fact that the stones are igneous (from the Latin word ignis meaning fire) which is formed by volcanoes (possibly Nature's fury?)... to... everything.

I feel like I am close. But. No cigar yet.

The Nature's Fury clue really doesn't seem to fit tho. I thought maybe "nature's fury" could be an anagram, but I haven't busted out the scrabble letters yet. Smile

Pillars Of Atlantis password

Wow. Just on a whim I decided to try and figure out the Pillars of Atlantis password.... and I just got it. Definitely one of the easier ones.

Unfortunately... no extra clue was awarded. It just said this (not really a spoiler, but I will make it one anyway):
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Congratulations !

You have Successfully deciphered the code and completed The Pillar's of Atlantis ™
You may now continue along your Sacred Myths and Legends adventure and proceed to the next level:
puzzle #6 - Carta Blanca ™.

Hmm. Maybe they are still updating the page and it will give me something tomorrow. Smile

I just picked this puzzle up yesterday. So. I guess I should probably try and figure it out now that I have solved the password portion. Hehe.

 Passwords

Way to go Shirley. Congratulations on determining a password...and without solving a puzzle first. I believe that is the first time such a thing has ever been done in this series. Of course, we have only solved ONE password so far. You are creating much needed energy in this set of puzzles/passwords. Thanks, Wink

Pillars of Atlantis

Magicrock and I have been trying to figure out the pillars for the past month or so, without success. We sorta got it going with only 3 symbols in a row, and symbols on numbers 1-9, since there are 9 symbol pillars. But now the new clues are confusing me on that.

Congrats on getting the Pillars password. I guess the scroll came in the box, like The Equation, rather than inside the puzzle - did it offer any hints to the password ?

(Unfortunately we can't buy any of puzzles 4-6 here in the UK yet, and US dealers don't seem to be allowed to ship outside the US Crying or Very sad. I'm tempted to get them off Amazon.com, although the postage costs are more than double the cost of the puzzles Shocked )

I looked at the Pillars last night. I do not see how we are supposed to know if we have solved the puzzle. Do we even have a clear idea of what we are supposed to achieve? The clues seem very shaky to me on this one. Maybe it will become clearer with more tinkering.

Carta Blanca is the only one I haven't picked up yet. Is the answer (which I assume must be numeric) clearly tied to the next puzzle?

Thanks. Yes. The scroll was in the box, just like the 2nd puzzle. There were the standard 2 clues on it:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

(password clue)

"Look beyond the myth for the beginnings of Atlantis"

and (puzzle clue)

"The smallest reveal but part of the path to Carta Blanca."

and from the website (password clue):

"He was the first to inspire the quest."

Pillars

Back in April, a guest user named ihcoib posted some "new instructions" that he got from Family Games, Inc.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Neighbours that touch should be different heights
Symbols should appear only once each in rows with symbols
Under the pillars with symbols, add the numbers
Answer is a hint for Carta Blanca.

Are you guys using these clues? I am just wondering if anyone else confirmed these extra instructions are legit. They definitely seem to be the same style of half-broken, riddle-English as the rest of the clues and scrolls. But I thought I would ask to be safe.
