That's kinda good news, thanks. I would have been quite disappointed to hear that you're just supposed to break the thing open to solve it Razz

passwords

I just had a thought. I know some of us have written directly to Family Games and always receive answers, including what seems to be extra clues. I was wondering if someone could ask them if anyone has solved the Equation password? Or any of the other passwords. On this forum it seems that only 2 have been solved. I know that information doesn't do a lot of good, but if someone has solved the Equation password, we could track him down and torture him. or tickle, whichever works best. Smile

Equation
FG

Your request has been made. I wonder how many others will write to them also, about whether the password has been solved. I recently heard from them, and without the boring details...#7 will be out in time for Christmas. And, solutions to hints and riddles might be revealed after the last puzzle has been out for a year. So, I'm not packing mine up and storing them in the attic. In 1.5 years I might get some help. I'll post if I hear anything.

Adventurik,

I have written to them and asked them that very question. However, they stopped responding to me a while back. Smile

As for the other passwords, I have been preoccupied lately so I apologize for being incommunicado.... but I have actually solved them all... with the exception of The Equation.

If you want me to post some clues or something... I can. But... I will leave that up to you. I am not really good at giving clues... and it's possible that I will spoil them for you. Smile But I am willing to try..

Passwords
But, not EQUATION

Shirley,

I'm willing to take hints, clues, possibly even blatant explanations or just outright 'tell me'. However, Adventurik is more likely to enjoy figuering out the solutions, so don't spoil things for him. Let him explain what to reveal and I'll go with that for a while. Then I may ask you to just PM me something. You can see by my post that I did write them today. They might not respond this time. But, we fans are the reason they are in business.

My first reaction to this was "Why didn't you tell us?", but I came to my senses and realized how moronic that was. Instead, I'll say more fittingly, "Congratulations, Shirley!" You have done well. You seem to be much better at it than I. But then, I only have the first 2 puzzles. Very cool, Shirley.

Equation

FamilyGames response was there are several who have solved everything and are just waiting for #7. So, someone knows the password for The Equation. Whoever you are, please come forward and be recognized. And, we'd certainly appreciate a little help . Congratulations of your achievment, and... Thanks in advance!

LOL, not necessarily ! I am one of those who appears to have solved the equation password on the Family Games site (when I enter a guess it responds with a cheery "You already solved this puzzle !" message instead of the less encouraging "Wrong key, try again!" one), yet I have no idea what the password is Razz

That seems to be a common glitch. I hope they aren't counting those as being solved. However, I got that message a few times, and now I get the Wrong Key answer.

Dmb,

Mine did the same thing (albiet, after the fact), so I can tell you that it is broken.

Not really broken, but... no that is not how you are supposed to solve it. Smile

I tried to wood-glue mine back in place... but in the end used epoxy, which held much nicer (I was very careful and tidy : )

I think that dowel is meant for support, but it is also supposed to be glued in place.

They use crappy glue. I also had to fix Legend of the King. Sad

Hope this helps.

Can anyone confirm that the same is true for the bricks on the other side of the puzzle (the big one that the pivot of the top part goes through, and the little brick with the dowel that stops the top turning) - i.e. they are poorly glued and although they can be moved, are not meant to move around really ?

Equation
password

Hey, dmb, Congrats on solving The Equation password. Even if you don't know which word you used. I realize there has been, and maybe still is a glitch in their system. If my situation was like yours, I'd write them and ask just which guess was correct. I say: I was not careful in my notes that day, and want to get them complete. The down side for you is, they might see that you have NOT solved it, and reset your account. Bummer, maybe. But, then you could be guessing and getting admonished like the rest of us. I'm still requesting: "Will a solver of The Equation password please come forward."

The only things that should move are the dice, the 2 larger dowels, the one smaller dowel, and the large top piece *(pivots slightly on the back wall - hits against the dowel peg that keeps it from moving too far.). The rest should all be glued down tight. And yes, the glue is probably loose on everything. Mine was. But. Its not really supposed to move.

If you want a clue that might help you with this glue confusion- read on... if not... DONT. It's kind of a spoiler, and I hate unintentionally spoiling things for people. Smile Actually, it wont tell you how to solve it... but it will give you an idea of the moving parts of this puzzle.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
There is another moving piece of this puzzle that you cannot see, which is what you need to figure out to solve it.

First time posting here, so I'm not sure if this has been pointed out before...

But did anyone else notice...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
That the circular piece you get from Legend of the King fits perfectly inside of the piece from Da Vinci's Clue

Not sure if there's any signifigance though...

Nice oberservation, Myelin. I checked mine and it is a nice fit. I'd think it is just a coincidence due to the size of tools used....but who knows. How far along are you?

I have the first three puzzes, the last three are actually coming in the mail today.

After reading through this post I seem to be at about the same point as others. I've unlocked Da Vinci's and Legend of the King. For The Equation I've found a way to get all the pieces in the puzzle, but who knows if it's right or what it means...

No one else has had luck with the equation password yet?

I also haven't figured out the password for Legend yet, though I haven't spent too much time on it. Has that one been cracked?
