The Equation
Radical Solution

Since talk has returned to the markings on the central piece of the clue I thought id share something that crossed my mind a while ago. Il put it in spoilers just to be safe.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Firstly a clue for the equation says there are two solutions, however everyone can agree there are many more than two. So perhaps there are two puzzle built in two the equation each with a different solution. Firstly you can complete the jigsaw. However doing so gives us nothing. So maybe there is a second puzzle and to solve it we need the markings. Iv attached a picture of the markings as they appear and also one after iv joined them up.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Note the square on the left with no lines in it. Il come back to it but firstly iv completed the jigsaw following only these lines as shown in the third picture.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
One clue made mention that two steps from the clue were needed ("if you dont use the first be sure to use the last") . If you place the smaller brown square over the square gap it almost fits perfectly. However more importantly in the orientation iv shown the equation 4^2xPsub4 is central in the hole in the brown piece.
This is a clue for the password

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Finally think back to the clue 4of5 discarded are required. If you leave the puzzle partially completed like this 5 pieces remain. And of these 5, 4 can help you open the legend of the king

Like I said this was only a thought i had and i dont know how relevant it is. But it does seem to fit nicely with a lot of clues.

Chriswhitey,
Wow! That's an amazing application of the lines on the DaVinci piece. When did you do that and how long did it take? I tried to do something like that, but gave up after a few minutes. Good job!

Just a comment on the puzzles without the inscribe lines...I wonder if they were left out because of productions costs, and because they weren't crucial to the password solution.

Equation etc

Adventurik,

It must have been about a year ago when i purchased the legend of the king. It came about as an attempt to use 2 "steps" from the clue and hopefully get a hint as to how to open the legend. however as the equation doesnt unlock I could never find out if the idea was correct.

Equation etc

In terms of how long it took i cant remember.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
My basic principle was to extend the lines from the clue without them crossing one another. I.e. continue until another line was reached but not to pass through it

The Equation

What I am wondering about the Equation puzzle:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Is there any chance to put the pieces onto the base so that none of the pieces crosses the lines on the base? I mean, can it be that the lines show parts of the positions for the pieces? (Hard to explain to me, I am German Wink )

For example:
If you put the base that way that you have E=mc² on the left hand side written upwards and on the right hand side written normally, you see that one of the "vector symbols", the one to the bottom left seems to create the border for the light brown piece (something like that):

_______
| . . . . . \
|_______\

(the longer one, there are two that are almost the same).

What I believe then is

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The piece from DaVinci can be laid upon the finished Equation puzzle the same way, the marks on the piece show where to lay it. But no idea then, I could imagine that will resolve itself when one sees it?

Some thoughts about the da Vinci Password

Hi all!

I´m from Germany so please keep that in mind regarding to my English;)

I am still struggeling with the password for "The clue".
I´ve opened the box and I´ ve solved the anagram.
But obviously the solution of the anagram is not the password.

Here are some thoughts about it:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The hints on the website led me to some conclusions. A woman never reveals her age: so I thought I´d simply add the age of Mona Lisa after the word "monalisa". That didn´t work.

In past and present they made their mark. Are they talking about the romans? Or maybe about women?

Title is of no importance...gives me no hint at the moment.

Further it is said that you only have to decode the scroll to get the password but I don´t see the point.

I don´t want you to tell me the password, but maybe you could give a little hint if I´m totally wrong or something, a little push forward, so to speak.

Best regards

Frank

Welcome, thescarletking!
Here's a push. In your second statement are two questions. Apply the first question to your first statement. It's just a little push in the right direction.

Hmmm, looks like the final episode is a variation on the old Christmas Cracker "make a big pyramid out of the little pyramids" puzzle (maybe with a few bits of the other puzzles thrown in ?). I wonder what the "reward" is ?

Still haven't figured out how to open the Temple Very Happy Must dig it out again and have another go.

Wow. Maybe there is hope.

Even if that new pic looks like a photoshop job more than a tangible object.

I wonder if they will finally tell us the solution to PILLARS when the last puzzle comes out.

It would kinda be nice to know the answer (and the reasoning behind it).

I like my solution, but I have no idea if its actually correct.

Pillars most likely solution
Pillars of Atlantis Solution as best as I can guess.

I've posted a picture for the pillars. It's pretty basic. The clue gave it away.

When it mentions Triplicates within the simple city walls, it's referring to the pillars without shapes. They are 'simple' by design, no markings that seem complex.

Equals cannot touch, but can be neighbours still refers to the different heights of the pillars, and that they cannot touch, but can be diagonals, since the diagonals are too far apart to touch on the grid provided.

I hope this helps. As far as to what you can use for Carta Blanca, I don't know, I don't have that puzzle yet...[/img]

So, it didn't upload the image
I thought it would.

Ugh, so, in response to myself, let me map this out as best I can without an image.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1=Big B=Box
2=Med C=Circle
3=Small T=Triangle

1 2 1 2 1
2 B C T 2
1 T B C 1
3 C T B 2
1 3 1 2 1

It may seem weird, but place them out and you'll get my drift.

All the best,

Jim
