Well, for one thing, the emails come out several hours after the site updates, at least. So either the rss feed or the compulsive checking of all the sites you have bookmarked (not that I do that constantly) will let you find it first.

ramiles, the prologue gets updated about every 8-9 days. I usually start checking, a couple times a day after a week has passed from the last update.

Heh. That was a fun puzzle. I didn't get a chance to look at it until today, but I had the cipher figured out less than fifteen minutes after I saw it. It took me a little while to actually type it out so I could translate the whole thing though. (Being dyslexic makes deciphering doubly hard sometimes ).

Okay, I translated the puzzle, but now I can't make heads or tails of it. Could someone post a step by step to help me understand it better?
Like I said, a "Step by step". I'm new at this, and I need some explanations.

The players have done a great job of posting, step by step, how the process went. Re-read the posts, refer to the original, google search any term that is not familiar, and use a code breaker such as Purplehell.com. This is a good one to practice on, there is worse to come
Welcome and good luck!

FAQ I dont think the FAQ was there or I may be wrong.. But I cant believe he wants to charge us $25 dollars to play..
The Jigsaw puzzle one is free... Geez he get rich from us..
I personally think its a joke to charge people to play a game.
Its like when I played Majestic started out free then when it went public wanted you to pay.

I think its perfectly fair for him to charge us for the game. PM'ing takes time and resources, and Eric's promised us a year's worth of play.
I've paid to play ARG's before, and I'll do it again. We pay for other kinds of games all the time, so what's wrong with paying for one that not only continues to challenge and entertain far longer than most video games, but one with a level of immersion not possible from any other media?
Depending on how the rest of the prologue goes, I'm quite willing to fork over $25. The PM has even said that you don't *have* to pay to keep playing, you just don't get any solve points for finishing puzzles.
FAQ is HERE .

Hey Guys,
It looks like a new Alice is Lost chapter came out today. For those of you who haven't done it yet and are looking for the answers .. they are as follows:
Quote:
"Question One. Alice-themed. In the two original tales written about the girl several types of flowers are referred to, but only two types get mentioned in both stories. Name either one."
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Both Daisy and Rose appear in both chapters of the Alice stories. Either answer works fine.
For the second question...
Quote:
The most playing cards one can hold without achieving a Pair is 13 (hold one card of each rank -- but the 14th will guarantee a Pair is made); what is the greatest number of cards you could hold without forming a Three Of A Kind?"
And it's answer ...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
26 .. using the same logic and just adding an additional card
For the third riddle, we get just a hair more complex ...
Quote:
Father of ours,
I've passed off
As five demons nod.
First hoaxes,
O! for is the demand!
And for the answer we ...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Anagram each individual line to ...
4 of Hearts
5 of Spades
7 of Diamonds
6 of Hearts
3 of Diamonds
Which in poker would be .. a straight.
Finally we get hit with this one ...
Quote:
"Why is a raven like a writing desk?"
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Which in the Alice books has no answers. So if you give it a few tries, I believe the story progresses.
Although some believe the answer is "Edgar Allen Poe wrote on both"

Just throwing it out there, some people might get a different question.

Question Two: the most playing cards one can hold without achieving a Pair is 13 (hold one card of each rank -- but the 14th will guarantee a Pair is made); what is the greatest number of cards you could hold without forming a Flush?
