While we wait

In case anyone is interested... someone posted this URL about 2 nights ago for another game site. I am told they award actual prizes there. I haven't played it yet since I have been stuck over here, but I'll probably check it out soon.

That is the chat server, you have to point your chat client to that server, and then join #unfiction to get in! =) or go to http://www.unfiction.com/chat/ and enter the room.

TIME???
Say what?

It's 3:02 am here in California. That would be 6 am Eastern. This is the time of day the site has been changing since inception....so why does the countdown clock say 2 hours 58 minutes left?

Question Question

Site is updated (for me at least). It seems that Cherry Street was the correct address after all!

End Game

Well that was pretty anti-climactic! Still no confirmation that Cherry st was the correct answer, but it seems to be what is indicated. I can't believe after their harrowing ordeal the Goodis family actually chose to celebrate over quesadilla burgers at Applebee's.

Thanks for all the posts, everybody, it has been fun. I can now get some sleep and don't have to endure bad acting / cheesy videos when I wake up. Best wishes to all of you!

strangeradventures hasnt started yet not sure when they will. they did have dailyrage going, but right now they arent doing anything either. one word of caution about that site i heard if you win you will have a loooooong wait on your money cause there are still people waiting from nov for their's. they dont seem to be in a big hurry to pay. there was a blog up about them and folks were complaining about not being paid but it seems to have disappeared all of a sudden.

Yup time is up

Here's what's posted on SMH site now:

Day 1
Dad had left behind a few little clues in case something happened to him. This first one included a key to solve it. Some of the consonants were swapped out and all the vowels were removed and replaced by an asterisk. If you decoded the consonants first, it became a lot easier to figure out which vowels needed to go in to replace the asterisks.

Day 2
Another message from Dad. Here's how people told me they figured it out. Once they realized it must be a web address, that meant "ddd" must translate to "www" and ".xln" must be ".com". They then wrote out the alphabet in the proper order and then matched these letters they'd already figured out – then they saw the pattern. It was the alphabet, flipped, so a=z, b=y, etc.

Day 3
Once we told you the correct username, that puzzle appeared. It was a kind of jumbled pictogram: each picture represented a word or part of a word-sound. "EYE-CAN-TEA-RUST-EWE"="I can trust you."

Day 4
This one was so hard. In the clue, Dad mentioned the words "periodically" and "table" and then in the kidnapper's video, he said the word "elemental". He's a scientist, so I should've known he meant the Periodic Table of Elements. If you look it up online, the missing letters are symbols for the elements: P, B, and Es. He was asking for numbers though, so it would make sense to try and enter the atomic numbers from the table. If the sum was correct, you'd get into the secret page about Freevira.

Day 5
This was hard if you didn't know how to use "predictive text" on your cellphone. If you type in the numbers from his last message you get "Alarm (or Akarm) Security". I figured he meant "Akarm" and thus Frank Caluori.

Day 6
If you went to the 'For Employees' section on the Akarm site and tried to click one of the links to download a document, you'd be prompted to enter a username and password which nobody had. If you tried entering something or even hit 'Cancel' you'd get an error page. I think a lot of people thought they'd hit a dead end, but at the bottom of the page was a link saying, "B A C K D O O R". I guess the person who made the site left that link in by accident. Either way, clicking that link opened some admin menus, including the live security feed.

Day 7
All night, Mom and I scoured the security cam archives, looking for anything suspicious. We were so tired, I don't think we noticed that when that glitch in the footage of Grant occurs, the video's time stamp jumps as well. Once people sent us the beginning and end of the missing time stamp, I could pull it from the archive. It was suspicious that Grant would do that, although the footage didn't tell us that much.

Day 8
This was the hardest for me. I was able to find that link on the Akarm site with all the fingerprints, so matching them to the murder weapon's print wasn't too bad. But I never thought to look back on the Zendorel website for the address where they were keeping Dad. The people that found this in time are not only clever, they're heroes!
