also, has anyone been keeping up with the jeff guy on youtube? the one who discovered the message? we might be able to get info from him. i know a couple people from here have been, and he says if theres anyone in the dc area, they should hook up. coffee. whatever. but if there IS someone that can go see him, that could be a good sourse of info. maybe a progression.

if we need an email account, it wouldnt be hard to do. being anonymous isnt hard. but i agree that he isnt going to respond what with 20 emails an hour coming in to him. just remember that this is the prelude, something to get us started. more stuff will start fitting into place once we get more information. we should start exchanging emails and crap too, make a core group that will do the talking, etc. they can be the corporation or agency or whatever. then the rest of us will tell them what to do here. but we need to organize if were too figure this out and have good relations with the people.

ytou would think it was that easy but I have several accounts all with bogus information but he weeded through it all and told me everything about myself. The yahoo account when i logged back in had all my correct info in place of what I had put there... Only thing that was wrong was my home address but even that was correct at one point.

I definitely think we need to work with the guy who posted the video. Even if he doesnt know anything wouldnt he at least want to know what he is being involved in since getting that message.

Also...being anonymous can be much harder than you think. We leave a huge trail while online and anyone with a little hacker knowledge can track your IP. With it they can find the location where it is coming from and if they can get the address for the building/house you are in, they can figure out who owns it (possibly yourself).
And on the other hand there is a lot of time and effort that would have to be put out on the "tracker's" part.

Group

It's obvious now that John Green thinks that we are a part of some group. I agree with the poster who said that we should create a group, but we should create one that is somewhat realistic. It would be pointless to create a group that is a fake government agency, simply to attempt to pry classified information from him. That would only end in failure.

What if we claim to be an independent, non-profit government watchdog agency doing research? It would be easy to create a site and report on/create a few stories involving political corruption/scandals in the US. Plus, it would be easy to think up a name for the group.

Non-Profit Watchdog
Slap together a website, Plagiarize a few articles, and VOILA!

I like the way you think. If someone that's decent at making websites can throw together a quick Non-Profit Watchdog site, then it would make sense that it would be cheaply done. Make it a group like Parents for Protective Spending, who are worried about the gov't spending too much money on the military and not enough on schools. Then just steal some articles from the web and you've got it.

Staying Organized

The only problem with creating a watchdog group, is that we won't be able to obtain classified information, so there's no sense in prying too deeply. We should be vague in our questions and allow room for him to leak information (preferably accidentally). With the information we obtain, we could get a few leads in the right direction though.

I think that at least for the time being, it's a good plan to keep us semi-legitimate and not overly suspicious. We could even create articles relating to what we learn by how he responds.

i agree
but the only thing is

if we do that someone who still hasnt emailed him would have to be the person who has to for example i havent, and since then ive held back on doing it, maybe someone should post a message saying who hasnt emailed john green

thats the clue but it says that these canidates have to be active personal from the OIS(OPS),DOD,and DHS i looked them and they mean
OIS(OPS)-Office of Internatinal Security and ops stand for operation
DOD-Department of Defense
DHS-Department of Homeland Secruity
and anyone intrested in wat ADDOPS is? yea me too
there are 4 departments and four canidates Very Happy so that means one from each department and usally to get a test of evrything u have 1 guy then 1 girl 1guy 1 girl. So maybe the person being discharged could be a guy its 50-50 really but we should really focus on the girls. what do u guys think

we're getting nowhere

here's my best plan. we tell him our information is classified. instead of telling him we're a secret organization, just completely ignore the information, and tell him its classified XD. he might not believe us, but its worth a try. i'll email him saying that some of my 'colleagues' emailed him and that we need the information ASAP. tell me first if thats a good idea or not.

also, that was quadruple posting ionic

Oganization and Focus
we need some!

Ok guys, we've got a lot of thought going on with this, but we really need to get some organization going if we are gonna keep up with this thing. Right now, thoughts are jumping around like crazy, and thats great because it means we're all thinking about this, but too much speculation without much real concrete evidence probably isn't a good thing. So, contact me thalionduSPLATgmail.com and I'll at least get a group of contacts set up dedicated to this thing. It's not much, but it will at least give us a chance to set up what needs to be done in an orderly fashion. After you contact me I can toss you my screen names and all that too if it makes life easier.

On that note, I think we should try to figure out what that song was, and who it was by. If anyone has heard the song before, please speak up.

Also, I'm thinking we should let John Green be for now. There are some thoughts that he might be OOG (not good for us), and so we should at least pursue other trails for now!

you're right

maybe letting him alone right now is the best idea. i mean, if he can find out ALL of those emails and CHANGE their information, he might actually be real... i don't think any normal actor would be able to do that...

Re: John Green

So it seems I don't have to come up up with an elaborate cover story then, for the moment it seems jpike2107 on Youtube, is our best bet, I'm assuming of course he is in game, the trouble is people have already told him it is an ARG, thus clouding the waters somewhat.

It is important that what is talked about here in the Unfiction forums is kept out of the game, think of the forums as a proverbial water cooler where you can gossip without fearing the consequences. Laughing

And to go along with thaliondu good ideas, does anybody know any Finish, it is supposedly a vary hard language to learn, yet it has cropped up in the link to the Overwatch files, and it appears that he main character understands it too.
