Organization

It might be helpful if we got together a list of everything we know (descriptions) about each character as well as addresses, phone numbers, websites, ect. connected with each person. Perhaps we could do the same with locations? Just getting everything in one place will be extremely helpful (especially like new-comers like myself), and likely help us to speed things along. I would try to do it myself, but right now I feel like I don't know as much as the people who have been at this ARG from its start, so maybe someone more "qualified" should give it a shot?

SOME THOUGHTS: Maybe the reference to Julian being a woman was just to throw us off and get us to think that this guy really doesn't know anything about Osprey. It's possible he really does not know anything, but it seems like a pretty intentional mis-lead as I have only ever heard Julian used as a male name. That could change with region though.

Also, where did the V-22 come from?

the v-22

The Osprey is the world's first production tiltrotor aircraft, with one three-bladed proprotor, turboprop engine, and transmission nacelle mounted on each wingtip. It typically operates as a helicopter with the nacelles vertical (rotors horizontal) for takeoff and landing. Once airborne, the nacelles rotate forward 90° in as little as 12 seconds for horizontal flight, converting the V-22 to a more fuel-efficient, higher-speed turboprop airplane. STOL rolling-takeoff and landing capability is achieved by having the nacelles tilted forward up to 45°. For compact storage and transport, the V-22's wing rotates to align, front-to-back, with the fuselage. The proprotors can also fold in a sequence taking 90 seconds. [1]

and get this there have been 4 major accidents involving the osprey

its all linked

if julian got discharges from the army regarding an incident involving the v-22 osprey than maybe that guy on the answering machine was just talking all the accidents ospreys had AND maybe they were going to do something with the osprey if thats the case then we closed that part of the case

Oh ok, I have heard of this aircraft before, but I did not realize that it was called the Osprey. That makes sense now. However, while there have been those 4 mentioned major crashes, the Osprey is hardly what one would call top secret, and does not seem likely to be something that would cause an organization to "cross the line". But it is still a connection t keep in mind.

Honestly, I don't think the V-22 has anything to do with our project Osprey though, and here's why. The document image on this page
http://overwatch.visualfiction.net/ov_p-c2.htm
states that the OIS is looking for 4 "candidates", and the requirements for these candidates do not mention that they should be pilots. Also, this page tells us a bit about two selected candidates:
http://overwatch.visualfiction.net/ov_p-c4.htm
And if you notice, Julian Thalburg is listed as ARMY. To me it would make more sense to enlist someone more familiar with aircraft (air force) to test anything having to do with a V-22.

Basically, I think our Osprey and the V-22 may not be related. Also, someone mentioned that it could be an honorable discharge. Actually, the term "discharge" does not even appear in the note from Claudia,
http://overwatch.visualfiction.net/ov_p-c5.htm
she uses the word "dishonorable". So we have no reason to suspect otherwise at this time. Hopefully this clears a few things up, any thoughts?

yes more speculation, but check this out. . .

http://overwatch.visualfiction.net/ov_p-c5.htm

That is Claudia's note. Reviewing this note for some info that was in my previous post, I noticed a few things.

1. " . . . the requisition forms for the seed money". I am trying to draw emphasis on the word "seed" here because I can not thing of any slang they might be using here that could relate to project Osprey, and so I don't see anyway to take the use of the word "seed" as anything but literal. This is important when considering the next point.

2. "Even with all the extra heat, I'm afraid they won't be ready for field testing by '07" Now when I first read this, I took "heat" to mean "pressure", as in "there is a lot of pressure on pushing this project". However, if taken literally, "heat" and "seeds" seem to fit together a lot more smoothly, don't you think? Correct me if I'm wrong, but heat is conducive of plant growth.

Maybe we're talking about some kind of experiment involving plants here? Of course, that does a poor job narrowing things down -- maybe a type of plant being used in some chemical, maybe testing the altering of crops -- its kind of hard to come up with anything definite right now obviously, but we should keep in mind we are dealing with the department of internal security. Maybe it involves testing the bodily reaction of what would happen in some kind of terroristic act involving crop dusting? This is all just food for thought, and purely speculative, but I think we should take a closer look at this letter from Claudia. If nothing else, she certainly seems to know what's going on!

in reponse to last post

If we are looking at the project dealing with crops it might be safe to say it may be genetically altered "seed" that is to be delivered to our enemys. Some sort of tainted crop that may be used as some sort of weapon I suppose. Just a thought I had looking at your interpitation of the message.

Near as I can tell the article in question has to do with paintings being stolen from a castle in brussels. kastel Van groot- bijgaarden

um could it be possible that pushing them over the line was theft?
has anyone gone to www.expatica.com
anyone?

I checked it out and came up with art theft fom kastel von groot- bijgaarden in brussels germany. there is a link for the castel in the news article and are a bunch of sponsorship links available. upon clicking them my best guess is that they are all in french.

The V-22 is an Air Force project that is being jointly tested with the army and marines and it is being tested out of Edwards AFB california.

perhaps

perhaps the 'SEED MONEY' refers to money being brought in from something thats already running and when john green mentioned "since you capitalized osprey" maybe he didnt mean capital as a capital O but as putting osprey on the market

yes more. . .

Nah, that doesn't quite make sense just because that e-mail was addressed to one of us poor forum blokes who knows about as much as we do about Osprey. However, finding out that the Osprey is being tested by the military as well kind of defeats my one argument from earlier, though I still believe our project Osprey does not have much to do with the aircraft. Also, while the stolen paintings are obviously a part of all this, I have to wonder how big a role they play. Isn't this a government agency after all? My best guess is that the stolen paintings will (hopefully) lead us to more info about one of our characters.

oh, but the seed money part of what you said seems pretty likely. that being said, lets keep in mind that a metaphor may be more than what it seems.
