Replies from CM, Code or Typos?
Everyone PLEASE check your emails from the CM thoroughly...

OK heres the deal. This idea that I've had lately on the "contacting the CM" thread is still under investigation. I decided to create a new Topic so that we may talk about this here, without cluttering the other Thread. My Idea is as follows:

I believe that everything happens for a reason when it concerns the CM. As far as I have seen, he doesnt make mistakes, no matter how trivial. He is meticulous when it comes to stuff like that, due to the fact that he knows the smallest typos will have us searching for hours for an entire code and/or a solve....

With this in mind, I recently received a reply from Mr. Deercot, and it looked pretty normal. Upon further examination however, I noticed that there was something HE had changed in the mail I had sent him. Here is the mail I had sent him, and then after that I will show my mail he sent back to me, along with his response (I bolded the word in question)
:

For you, it allows you to express your next piece of the masterpiece.. Eric IS your masterpiece is he not? Or is he just another brush stoke on the canvas of your resume? Im sure this question will be answered in time... I just wanted to check in and let you know I am still here, for the Taylor family, as well as you Mr. Deercot.

Well, Master of Code, when shall we be graced with your puzzling presence? Im here. As always. Reply if you so desire...

And in the CMs reply:

Weu ll, Master of Code, when shall we be graced with your puzzling presence? Im here. As always. Reply if you so desire...

Notice the word "Well" had a "u" and a (space) added. This was odd, but not unheard of, seeing as though the Codemaster had done this sort of code (teamwork puzzle) before.. I decided to post it to the boards and see if this happened to anyone else.

Surprisingly enough, I got a couple of responses from people noticing the same thing. I will show them in the order they were posted:

And in the CMs reply:

Seeing this is what solidified my idea of intentional typos. The word "tip off" had been changed entirely to say "tworipoff". This means the letters "wor" had been added. Hmm..Even still, going against my better judgement, I decided to wait and see if there were more, in order to be certain.

Portion of Windmill Hill's mail to CM:

Quote:
Do You ever just feel exhausted from all of it?

Windmill Hill's Typo:

Quote:
Do yYou ever just feel exhausted from all of it?

Ok.. so thats another typo, "y". Then there were more, im just going to list them from here on, to make it easier to read..

Next, the double posting to El Neils Video on YouTube:

First:

Quote:
Tough crowd tonight. Ok, I get the messsage. Phase two begins in two videos.

Second:

Quote:
Tough crowd tonight. Ok, I got the message. Phase two begins in two videos.

An "s" was added to the word "Message"
And "get" became "got"

Next typo would be from wittious1:

Quote:
After was changed to A'fter.

So an apostrophe was added to hers...

As far as I can tell, those are the only solid typos found. There are two more things to note, just in case. These two posts have yet to be determined if they are actually involved in this code. (IF in fact there is even a code to be involved in of course..)

The first would be from Der Kork:

Quote:
I checked my emails (yet, he denies me access to newer insights. Bad CM he is.) and I found out that a few words were "shifted" in the cited text (means, they got only 1 ">" in front of them instead of at least 2 and being in a single line).

* "work,"
* "must"
* "two"
* "assignments?"
(Changes appear in his email from June 17 for the first time. The single letter and sentence part clue.)

No typos included by him instead. (And no correction of mine.)

And the next one came from my favoritest person... to hit with spitterballz... Ash-hole aka LicoriceSniper:

Quote:
Also, nothing seemed out of place in my emails, except for my initials (AB) in the third email were greyed out when he replied with the fourth. I'm pretty sure they weren't like that when I sent it initially.

SO IN A NUTSHELL (sorry this post was so long, but there was a lot to incorporate), This is the listing of typos that have so far been recorded, as well as the "iffy" ones recorded afterwards:

Sm00thwun: Well became Weu ll [u (space)]

Rabid Kittens: tip off - tworipoff [wor]
Windmill Hill: You - yYou [y]

YouTube: Messsage - message, Get - Got [s, o]

wittious1: After - A'fter [apostrophe]

and the "iffy" ones...

Der Kork: work, must, two, assignments had only one ">" in front of them.. (not sure what that means exactly, can someone clarify?)

LicoriceSniper: Had her initials "AB" greyed out in her mail to CM.

Ok guys, I believe that is it, if there is anything that needs to be changed, or added, please feel free. Also, I started this topic so we can discuss this. Speak your mind people. If you think theres somethin there, say it. If you think its all nothin and just our imagination, say it..lol Sorry if this post was kind of long and messy but I didnt have much time to do it... ill fix it up if i can in a little bit..

I wrote him a long email and got a response that said something to the effect of "when this is over I will be a ghost." Which is something he's told us before. In scroling through my section, I found lots of typos, but have no idea which ones I made, since I wrote him after drinking too much, and which ones he edited in... Here's the paragraph with the typos...

spm Op aphid's box as mentioned in one of your comments?

If I had to guess, it would be the letters that have been left out - c in expect and a in spam...

But...

This one definitely goes in the probably not a clue category... Dunno

EDIT: Maybe it's some thing like "you swore"

As in who has pledged allegiance to him...

uh, why cant you just check your sent mail and compare it to the reply? am i missing somethin here?

well assuming you didnt make ANY typos, the typos in the reply mail are:

expect - expet [missing c]
that - htat [drunken typo? if not, th becomes ht]]
Are you - Ar eyou [(space) e, drunken typo?]
spam - spm [a]

to be honest, the M.O. of the CM's typos up till now has been to ADD letters into someones paragraphs... not remove them. By removing them, it doesnt give us anything, it takes it away. I honestly think these are all drunken typos and theres nothing significant here.. but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Our best bet is to keep emailing the CM and try to get as many responses as we can. The more replies, the more of a chance to add letters to the list.

Back when this typo thing first started happening, I emailed the CM asking him if were just mistakes being made, or if there was something more to it, hoping to get some sort of cryptic confirmation. I got nothin. No reply at all. I feel like the neglected red headed stepchild. Im gonna keep tryin though. At least he will know that if it IS in fact a code he is trying to give us, Im a good person to give it to.

::Razzes Wabo::

wild spec:

with the appostrophe added in one typo.. it COULD be:

you've sworn?

About Ash's initials being greyed out, I would bet that is gmail's doing. If you put a name at the end it usually detects that it is a signature and greys it out.

Exactly, I said this in the last thread about it - every "Erin" I've put at the end of my emails to CM has been grayed out.

Okay, I took screenshots of my gmail and smudged them a bit. editing ftw. :3

This one is of most of the email conversation, showing what wittious is talking about.

This one is of my latest email to him, showing the grayed 'signature' that both Sniper and I have mentioned.

I have a strange feeling that either everyone (especially new people) havent checked all of their mails, or if they have checked them, they may have missed something. Remember, it may be as insignificant as an apostrophe or an added period, but it still is something new. An addition, if you will.

These additions could potentially make up our solve if put together correctly. (I hope! lol)

Please.. triple check mails everyone.. quadruple check them!! prove that im not an idiot!! lol thanks...

and about the "Juli" being bolded.. i cant see how that would fit into a puzzle, so I tend to think that it wasnt the CM's doing...

And what letters have a possibility of being used ?

BTW I looked over the few e-mails I have with the CM and saw no changes.

He made that change deliberately as a "normal" line break (enforced by google mail) would most assuredly have resulted in an equal number of ">" (e-mail quotation signs).

The fact he added 1 ">" in front of them probably is just meant to "hide" them - but hey, all I can do is speculate...
