Bureau of Morality phone call from FreeRebelArt.com
(see FreeRebelArt.com thread)

ok i have looked all over ETS, the wiki and here and i just can not fine any information on this at all. I am a little freaking out... trying to type with shaking hands.

i got a call from the BoM number that you could call the first time. it asked for a password, i didnt know it so think i just wistled into the phone and hung up. then a text came from a friend who is also into this, but he did not call me. the text just said "password resistance" so it then called back and i gave the password. it told me that i am [paraphrasing] now more of a threat and i am being tracked. it gave some stats as to how long people in this status stay "alive" or "go missing" i called my friend and he did not send me a text. in fact he was fast asleep.

am i the only one to get this message? or is everyone else too tired to write about it? to be honest i am a little scared to call the number back, afraid i might get into my car and set off a car bomb.

very strange happenings.

Your friend was using the http://www.freerebelart.net website to pull a prank on you.

You're supposed to enter your name and number on that site, and when you say the password "resistance", the website changes instantly into a BoM warning much like the one you heard over the phone.

If a friend enters your name and number instead, they can actually see when you've answered -- the BoM warning will show on their screen. However, in order to get the full experience, you're supposed to enter your own details, then when you're sufficiently freaked out/amazed, pass the site's URL on to a friend... they enter theirs and the chain continues.

And the probability of being car bombed in relation to Year Zero is relatively slim -- so don't panic. Make sure to throw blunt objects in your friend's general direction next time you see him/her. Wink

I tried out this website too. I just entered a phone number and a name and I got a call back right away. It was the same message from the government with the threats about being watched, etc. I didn't get the whole message done, but one part talked about '"being watched by cameras installed in public spaces and [cooperating?] corporate sponsers."

Isn't that what happens already?

Then there were some statistics of 53% of people receiving this message being without jobs and 17% without healthcare in one year of receiving the message...which I didn't quite understand, and I might have the numbers wrong.

I wouldn't be afraid about being followed, calling the number or having a bomb in car problem.

It does seem like a security issue in the game that someone else can see what you have entered...I'm not sure how that works because I didn't try anyone else's number. I thought of putting in my son's cell - but I didn't want him to get the call at school. Smile

Something I don't understand about this game - I thought that the future reached up through the websites sent back in time... Then people here saw those websites and made the murals (which seemed a bit shaky as to logic because the websites have clues to unlock stuff from the future site of mailstrom. So how did the "government of the future"- the people behind the message on the phone find this site? Unless the "government from the future" (which needs a better name) set up the site?

I must be missing something.

Bang Head time parodoxes give me headaches
the number that calls you is the same found earlier in the game, and gives the message about being flagged if you call it, somehow the site doesnt redirect you until you give the correct password. VERY COOL, though the potential to screw with innocent people not playing is really high.
