I'm for this plan of action. Seems like we've overstepped the boundaries of the game for the moment. Besides, it's hard keeping up with so much information and doubting its veracity. Might as well wait for it to officially start.

If AR is mobilizing us against the SOTA and IF that myspace kid is really ingame and this robot they are tinkering with is something really bad, then maybe we are supposed to stop them.
But if that is the case, then AR is not doing a very good job of mobilizing the troops. We don't even know what cause he is fighting for. Laughing

And I am all for waiting. Not stagnant waiting, but just a lowering of our investigative level, like from red to orange or yellow. Keep an eye out on the nets, but also not actively try to decipher the entire internet. Very Happy

why does everyone seem to be saying that we are ahead of the game? i dont see any evedence that supports us being too far along.

@ Psygene and unpurposed

I'm glad you agree. I'm just afraid that it'll ruin it for us if we keep tenaciously ripping into what we have now. I can only hope that the PMs take better care of all of the behind the curtain content from now on. I wish they'd have made it a bigger challenge to get where we are now too. I mean, this wasn't even as hard as the beginning of ILB.

EDIT:

Mostly because nothing is working right now (emails, voicemail, etc) and the ad that was to lead us to halo3.com/comic was leaked 3 days early. It's pretty clear that we're ahead of the game. I'm just not sure what effect it's going to have in the long run.

The Halo 3 comic (and thus the IP address leading to SOTA and everything else) was found several days before it was supposed to be revealed, through a leaked newspaper ad.

We were supposed to find out about the halo3.com/comic site in the weekend.

The ad for the Halo 3 comic site was found early. It should have been in the papers this sunday. Since all the other sites followed from this one, it makes sense that we're way ahead of the game.

EDIT: Heh, I guess we're all post-happy right now.

Halo3.com, at least for me, isn't showing the 5 servers anymore. Could someone else check 'em? Its probably just my computer or connection or something, but it never hurts to check!

'Tis important since we should not start questioning the reasoning behind the PM's actions, if any. Simply sabotages the TINAG aspect.

waiting sounds good; it is american gp weekend and i'm a little distracted.

i think we were ahead of the pm's from the get-go; which leads me strongly to belive 42 isn't behind this, or they figured we'd only get involved after the fanboys died down (or they severely underestimated us)

Try erasing your cache and reload. It worked for me.

I gotta say, and I mean no offense, that we need to quit comparing the quality of this to ILB. It's what I refer to as Episode I Syndrome. We knew we'd have an ARG after the success of ILB, and it's been hyped in our heads ever since. It will never live up to our expectations if we try to compare to ILB.

We must also keep in mind that ILB was a huge hit, and Bungie (and the PM's) knew that this one would have a lot more people interested in taking part. We all know what the "mainstream gamer" has done to gaming (many consider innovation dead and games "dumbed down" these days)...not that this will be boring and uninventive, but it will most certainly make itself accessible to those who are inexperienced ARG players.

Guess I'm just saying let's focus on this ARG, have fun and not try to review the game as it plays out. Remember, TINAG!
