It seems as though the Flood were released on Delta Halo a long time ago, like the first activation of the Halos 100,000 years ago.

But that threat was evaded and now a new threat is present. AR is certainly not testing the Systems and the Array for no reason.

Where did this come from?

I believe that was found inside the picture of the warthog posted on bungie.net a couple of days ago? I'm trying to confirm.

I was a lurker during ilovebees.

I've been racking my brain trying to remember if there were any unanswered logical threads or questions from the ILB incident. I'm re-reading the stuff from 2004 trying to jog my memory. Given the current lack of data from Adjutant Reflex this seems like as good a place as any to begin.

Of course, I'm assuming this game will share some elements with ILB (which may not be the case).

Why assume Genesis 7:13 though? I get the 7:13, but Genesis? Why not Revelation, which many (including myself) seem to suspect the Halo series draws from allegorically?

Was this confirmed? I don't recall seeing this on Bungie.

They do traditionally release Marketplace content at that time. The counter I was referencing that stops at that particular date and time was supplied by AdjutantReflex at the b.net forum.

Hidden within panoramic shot of a Warthog Bungie released.

100,000 years prior to 2552. Smile

Revelations:
7:13
Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, "Who are these, clothed in white robes, and whence have they come?"
7:14
I said to him, "Sir, you know." And he said to me, "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
7:15
Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night within his temple; and he who sits upon the throne will shelter them with his presence.
7:16
They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat.
7:17
For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."

Almost all of the names in Halo draw from Genesis- Flood, Covenant, the Ark, etc...

Also, I looked at Revelations, and it made very little sense:
"Then one of the elders asked me, "These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?""

It's possible that Revelations is more important, or that neither is important, but "Boarding the Ark" seemed like too great a coincidence to me.

The thing is though, since it seems that the "Ark" and the "Flood" is so ingrained in the halo storyline, it's not a far jump to assume that scripture from that part of the Pentateuch is applicable. If my memory serves me, there has also been links to John, and other books. I'd be interested to see what other books have to offer.

Gotta get back to work.

Bungie has taken some undertones in its plotlines from the Bible, but actually used those stories or events in its universe as reality, so the Ark in Halo seems to be a spiritual successor to the Biblical Ark and not the actual Ark in the Bible itself.
Although if the Forerunner did in turn create or spur humanity forward, then they could have created and altered history in such a way that they in turn created the Bible as a way to leave behind the memory of events past but mask the truth behind some of it. Although that seems a little bit too deep and controversial for Bungie. I am going with just spiritual use and not literal use of the Bible.

Haha, if this biblical link has any merit, it's certainly not John 7:13

"But no one would say anything publicly about him for fear of the Jews."

hey all, im new here and juts looking to help however i can. i decided to look up 7:13 in the other books, its probably nothing, but here are the more interesting ones to me:

psalm:
He has prepared his deadly weapons;
he makes ready his flaming arrows.

Micah:
The earth will become desolate because of its inhabitants,
as the result of their deeds.

2 corinthians:
By all this we are encouraged.

revelations:
Then one of the elders asked me, "These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?"

like i said probably nothing, most likely coincidence but interesting none the less.

Personally, I find the Ark reference more likely to be related to the Ark of the Covenant than Noah's Ark. The reference to the Flood is meant to be misleading. I hate to go into all this, I think it would end up getting us sidetracked. There's too many years behind it to go into.

Has anyone read Ghosts of Onyx and found anything that possible ties in to what AR is talking about and his responses?
Bungie said the Nylund novels are Halo cannon, so they are as integral to the Halo universe as any game content.
(Just trying to get some information from other resources other than the net)

I don't know; the story tends to direct me to Noah's Ark rather than the Ark of the Covenant as the allegorical source. That said, the Genesis 7:13 connection could be pure coincidence OR designed to put us off track. It's certainly a tenuous link, and not of much value to us without more info.
