Yeah, he has gotta be talking about all those dumb fanboys at bungie.net. If I had to deal with them, I doubt I could last that long!

On a more serious note though, I don't think anyone is really questioning SOTA's website. SOTA has the obvious link of the symbol, and because the website is hosted on an IP owned by M$.

I agree, there does seem to be a pretty positive connection between the symbol and stonehenge. I mean, there is no way that it just happens to line up like that and point to the summer solstice which just happens to be the same day that the Transmission Log's countdown ends.

Hey, guys, this thread is getting really long, and there are a lot of different conversations going on here. Would someone who has time mind summarizing the major areas of speculation (for example, the speculation about how the glyph relates to something happening on June 21) and starting threads for them, so discussion can stay organized and fairly easy to browse?

Brownie

I'll bribe you with virtual brownies and my undying gratitude. Wink

That sounds kinda fun. I'll take it upon myself to at least compile the major theories and try to keep a thread of them together. But do you think it would be better to keep a list of all the theories, for reference, or more like a new discussion thread???

Well, if there's a goodly amount of discussion to be had about a particular theory, it wouldn't hurt for it to have its own thread.

Does this mean my flying-bunny-monster theory won't make the cut. Wink

Alright. For the moment, I'll just try to compile a list of all the theories, and if they need their own thread someone else can start those.

Appreciated Kore.

Perchance a new thread that individually lists out all the theories that have been put forth? So that people can form their own opinions, simply by reading all the postulated hypotheses and then looking around for evidence on their own. But, coming back here to put forth those opinions.

Thoughts?

Addendum: Reads like the decision has been made. Appreciated again Kore.

That sounds like a great idea! Smile

Oh, I didn't mean to say that we were questioning their in-gameness or not, just that we seemed to come to the party a bit early, but now said metaphorical party has started.

(Oh, jeez. Third post in 3 hours where the sheer WORDING made me feel my nerdiness stats raise by +15. Coincidentally, all three posts were on three different forums XD)

Does the fact that you've been on three forums in the past three hours factor into your nerdiness score at all?

Considering the fact that the other two forums in question are both VMK fansites?

Maybe +1 or +2. Luckily, I have a lot of equipment that raises my Charisma right now.

Hey at least its nothing to do with second life.

Oh and to pretend that i might actually try and have something to do with the topic. I guess the 22 hour count down is there to keep us busy while the summer solstice count down keeps on ticking.

Are you sure? I'd think a Disney MMO is far more embarassing than the "Do whatever-the-hell-you-want" MMO.

Ahem... On topic...

I'm beginning to wonder the EXACT significance of the background on the Transmission Log. Since the Log is supposedly run by AR and AR, being a machine, is efficency-obsessed, one would think he did not randomly place it there. Were this background animated, it would make sense (As it seems to be a picture of cells of some sort), but it's not.

(And YES, I know that it's the same cells used in the Bungie logo animation. But, as a few other members posted, In this ARG, we're to pretend that we know nothing of the halos, the Ark, etc., as they did not happen yet. As such, I'd assume that includes pretending that the Halo video game series and Bungie are all figments of our imagination. Then again, we found AR through his posts on the Bungie forums... I dunno. I'm getting into some hardcore meta stuff here XD)

(Wow. Metastuff. You don't say that everyday XD)

I've put up a few of the theories. If there are any specific ones you guys would like me to add/research then go ahead and tell me, otherwise I'll just have to sift through the thread again looking for them haphazardly.

Hmm well these are forerunner machines so we cant assume the same things about them. The perfect example would be 343 guilty spark, that thing is obsessed with cataloging data and firing the halos, oh and its a total snob too even if it doesn't want to admit that.

Well, just because it only concentrates on one task doesn't mean that it's not efficency-obsessed about it Wink I mean, it's like a real computer: If you design it to do one thing (Like catalog data) that it does that one thing efficently. If you design it to do a bunch of things (Like how Windows machines work) it at least TRIES to be efficient.
