Well, just because it only concentrates on one task doesn't mean that it's not efficency-obsessed about it Wink I mean, it's like a real computer: If you design it to do one thing (Like catalog data) that it does that one thing efficently. If you design it to do a bunch of things (Like how Windows machines work) it at least TRIES to be efficient.

Yup agreed, but i would also like to point out that they are most likely AI constructs, they have priorities and protocols that they need to follow but they also usually have a lot of freedom, well the ones that are higher on the organizational food chain.

AR, the countdown and

These are all of the things we know for sure about this strange situation:

  • Adjutant Reflex occasionally posts on B.net, sometimes with dire warnings. It has referred to an incident which occurred ~100000 years ago.

  • S.O.T.A: Have found 'earthshattering proof' of alien intervention in human affairs, and have been holding rallies over the last few days. We are unable to apply for membership at this point or join the mailing list.

  • The countdown: on an 'alien server' linked to by S.O.T.A. (and the halo3.com comic). It is counting down (in base 7) to the solstice on June the 21st.

  • A poetic email telling us to follow the sign, presumably the glyph that connects all of these things.

Given this, why is it assumed that the countdown is being run by Adjutant Reflex? Also, what are these Halos everyone keeps mentioning? Have I missed something?

Sometimes, I have this feeling that no one ever reads my posts. It's this weird paranoia I have of being globally ignored, throughout the entire internet... (: I'm just crazy like that (but I'll forgive you, as this thread is now 94 pages long and contains 'leventy billion conversations).

Well, actually, I was more referencing the flea and the spdr, but that works too.

Have you played Halo or Halo 2 on the Xbox or PC?

Ahem... Before we start, I'd like to ask darkmoonz to repeat what he just said. I didn't quite hear you XD (I jest, I jest)

Anyhow... Halos. They're the funny golden things that floats over an angel's head. Yes.

As for the countdown... well... Whoever's running it talks a lot like AR. Has the same accent and such, yes?

Oh, those Halos. But they're fictional. Why are we assuming that they have anything to do with this?

This whole ARG is based on the halo universe. For this ARG to exist we must assume that everything about the halo universe is true, therefore halos are out there, there is an ark burried somewhere in africa and all sentient life was wiped out almost 100000 years ago.

Edit: Well everything is a bit of an overstatement, but for the most part everything should be true.

Didn't a glyph similar to AR's avatar appear on halo3.com?

And, at the same time, didn't we find AR through his posts on the halo forums of bungie?

(META STUFF: TINAG, I see Wink Don't mind me. Just trying to make sure nobody misinterprets your posts... although I see I'm too late.)

Actually that was the first sighting of the the glyph. The glyph was added onto master chiefs visor, if we clicked on it the flash site would go to the storyline page. Also in the images section there is an out of place picture of the ark. But none of this really went anywhere and with all the countdown and sota hype it seems most people forgot about it

Edit: i am sorry didnt notice that you were making a statement rather then questioning. But still i stand by the fact that we should consider if that was a dead end or not.

*ahem* Possible future destruction of all living organisms capable of supporting the Flood.

Isn't that, um, everything?

All sentient organisms. So that means pretty much everything with a nervous system. Animals are sentient but we are sapient, or something like that, i am not quite sure about it but this distinction came up a couple of times.

ILB tie in
I think. dont get exited.

I was talking to my friend just now and we got to discussing ILB after I showed him the stuff that goes with this ARG (AR on bungie, the ad, SOTA, and all that good stuff). He got onto ILB.com and was listening to the mission logs. He skipped all the way down to the last one (Section Zero) and told me he herd the AI say N'chala after one of the lady's asked about the letter she received.

If you remember that name its because its the name of the tribesman in the Halo 3 comic (Halo3.com/comic).

I can't tell if the AI says N'chala or not but she is talking about a cover up. I don't know the whole story to ILB but if the government found out about N'chala I would think they would cover it up.

This is totally irrelevant to the game at hand but I thought I should post it. Be mindfull that I haven't slept for a long time and I could be making something out of nothing.

Nah. Game lore implies the Flood require life-forms with sufficient biomass, calcium stores, and cognitive capacity to properly infect them.

Maybe it just seemed like everything when I was playing...
