First time

This will be be my first ARG, (followed ILB just a little). My question is, why would AR choose bungie as its host? You would think that bungie would create a totally new website sort of like ILB. Even the forum ninjas seemed perplexed there. It just seems a little odd to me.

The thing is, Bungie doesn't actually control these things. They have a company called 4orty 2wo Entertainment handle it. All Bungie did (probably) was elevate the privileges of the account to super user or somesuch.

I guess it's also possible that the original trailhead was so subtle everyone missed it, so they had to slap us with a blatant "Hey stoopid, over here!"

Well that makes enough sense, but why would bungie elevate the account? I would think that 4orty 2wo would create something par to ILB.

Trog,

Although I think that is possible, I don't think that is the case here. I'm thinking Bungie/42/whoever is simply trying to get more people involved from the get-go, instead of the gradual build up that ILB had.

Damn, I *miss* the ILB days.

Why don't we ask it to activate the Halos?

I am going to try and PM AR with all of the biblical references that the 7:13 message points to. He is collecting data after all, and I think I will give him some. I'll see if I get a response.

Message sent to AR over bungie.net:

Subject: X.XX.713> ghost.713/non-auth/activity ongoing

Body: Entry "7:13" matches for datamining:
Genesis: On that very day Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark.
Psalm: He has prepared his deadly weapons; he makes ready his flaming arrows.
Micah: The earth will become desolate because of its inhabitants, as the result of their deeds.
Corinthians: By all this we are encouraged.
Revelations: Then one of the elders asked me, "These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?"

It's sleeping; our goal is to figure out as much as we can from the given data, as well as anything else we might find, until it finishes compiling the resources/archives. Coming up with questions to ask it is futile until it reawakens. IMO.

Do you really think that's a good idea? Laughing

Why would he activate the Halos? It's used to contain Flood outbreak and since there is no such event at this time, that would be well outside his programming. An event occurred that required his attention. He checked the system and found it in working order. Now he is researching the event.

It think we may be in wait and see until the 14th.

Okay, fine that makes sense. (hi, I'm new here by the way!).

What if by the breach of integrity, it meant Cortana getting into the Halo?

Significance of "Non-Auth"

I don't know; the story tends to direct me to Noah's Ark rather than the Ark of the Covenant as the allegorical source. That said, the Genesis 7:13 connection could be pure coincidence OR designed to put us off track. It's certainly a tenuous link, and not of much value to us without more info.

Also the reference be referred to as "non-auth". Could be non-authorized or non-authentic, but the second makes more sense to me as it then says it is continuing the search.

If the Genesis reference is correct, then it is searching for the ark, and then rules out this refence as incorrect when it comes accross it while datamining.

Pretty weak, but throwing it out there.
