Yes, and the page itself was updated yesterday too (based on the HTTP headers). But that still doesn't rule out the entirely plausible situation that the domain is still owned by the guy who's running Luca/Topcola/Dot game and it's all a giant coincidence. However, my comments on the NowPublic post stand (and I certainly encourage you to read my URL on Perplexorum, above, which includes a number of handy URLs on the UFOs):

Quote:
To clarify: we don't know for sure if this is related to Halo 3. There are plenty of facts that show that 27.com is related to Luca/TopCola instead - it's owned by the same guy who runs a number of numerical-domain names (and the ARG/game referred to as "dot game"). Likewise, a year ago, a (now-ex) Bungie employee said that there was no relation between Bungie and Luca/TopCola. With all that said, there are some important pecularities with 27.com: the last updated timestamp of the page is yesterday, the filename of the background image is ar.jpg, as is AdjutantReflex, and this wouldn't be the first time that a hostile AI has taken over an innocent girl's site (as per ILB/Dana).

Anyone think that they have all the facts so far and can just write that out for everyone to be on equal footing?
Things like the XBL chats are hoaxes and AR is only using bungie.net forums for direct communication so far.
Thanks!

It certainly is time someone compiled a list of known facts and facts under consideration to level out the playing field. Some questions are being asked that have been hypothesized about earlier.

Anybody, not at work, up to this herculean task?

I will do it

As a gentle reminder, when one trouts, one should also link, if possible, to where the information has already been discussed. Thank you! Smile

Also let us not forget that this TopCola and changes to Lyca are very recent that resulted in the expanding of that site. However, the Lyca hoopla last year certainly drew Bungie's attention to the site. Maybe when lyca.com was hammered last year, Bungie got on the phone and contacted the owner to see if they were interested in working with them on this. (Sorry...I know that is borderline peeking behind the curtain)

Which is simple to disregard as a trout, but rather a "oh crap, this is a heavily trafficked thread, and we all posted at the same time".

Appreciated Silent_shadow. Though, do not spoil GoO for yourself in the process.

Anyone take a look at the odd capitalization of the E-Mail? It just really seems weird that some words are capitalized and others are not. For instance, one might think that the first letter of each line might be capitalized but this is not so. Also some random words in sentences are capitalized.

I believe these are the cap letters. The I is in parentheses because you have to capitalize the word I, so I'm not sure if it matters.

Probably nothing, but you never know.

Indeed. Do not spoil the book, but instead compile as much is possible so far without the GoO info and then go finish the book for your self. Then you can add in the GoO stuff with that book fresh in your mind. Maybe you will see something none of us have so far!

And it is much appreciated for you doing this. I would have taken this task on myself instead of simply asking, but I do not have much time at work to be ARGing and administrating as well. Smile Thanks for your effort!

The same message appears under About Halo->Weapons & Gear for the screenshot of the Pelican, at halo3.com. Odd coincidence.

Addendum: Odder still, the image for Halo 3, the regular edition is the same, under About Halo->Games

Can we drop the 27.com link yet?

I mean we found the image, we found it's source, poke around ufocasebook.com for a while and tell me it's part of the game. It wants you to pay $120.00 for a year of membership access to the site's video section! Bungie would never send us there for any reason, the site is constantly trying to get money out of you and it's much older then what we are looking for. 27.com was updated a few days ago with the ar.jpg image, but that's because it was featured on digg's homepage a few days ago also. There's nothing of value here, we are following a false lead. Unless someone can justify why Bungie would send us to ufocasebook.com then I think we should exclude it from further discussion.
