As with the previous images, a short testimonial and more images.

If I recall reading on one of your links I found that the first "Chad" Photo was the cell phone image, followed by several more under the rajman flickr account. I don't recall a single reason to believe they aren't the same people except for the opinion of that one person. Unless you have other information separating the 2 entities...

@mjolnir

I agree, but until this lead is fully explored we will always go back to it and I personally want to disprove the connection asap before we get more clues in the right direction.

Disproving the UFO connection is indeed something beneficial, but I also think it distracts from other modes of investigation on the more concrete information that we have. Still, disproving this branch of thought is important as well, so I agree with you rstarr that we should disprove this connection as well as investigate the glyph in other places more halo and bungie related.

Can anyone give us evidence that the UFO pictures are for another ARG? Maybe a statement from a person playing said other ARG? Or at least some viable evidence that the UFO stuff is not a part of this ARG.
I am looking into it as well, but a bunch of you already have big head starts on me in this area.

i feel its a bit odd an AI would talk about Gods & Demons unless in a very symbolic way

In the Halo universe, the Covenant species worship the creators of the Halo rings (whom the Humans call "Forerunners") as gods. The Covenant also refer to the Master Chief as "the Demon". Fan speculation is that the "defied Gods and Demons" refers to the Flood's fight against the efforts of both the Forerunners and Humanity's efforts to contain the outbreak. This implies that the Gravemind is influencing Cortana's message, which is also implied by a very deep and gravelly voice repeating the line slightly out-of-phase from Cortana in the same trailer.

-- Steve found the line very chilling, actually.

Like I said, the UFOs are directly related to 27.com However, whats his face from bungie said "lyca and 7144(or whatever it was), etc. are not related" although the etc. might imply it, they didn't specifically shoot down 27.com and therefore didn't shootdown the UFOs. So, um, let's get a verdict on 27.com

I can not. From a TIAG view, this is what I know (from memory, notes upstairs): 27.com is owned by Matt Asher. Matt Asher owns a lot of numerical domain names, including the "dot game" (player name, not "official name") being put on by TopCola, which has links to Lyca.com. A year ago (spec: things change!), a (now-ex) Bungie employee said they had nothing to do with these sites. You can see remnants of these threads all over Bungie - they are loudly proclaimed every time someone mentions them. Next, if you finish the game at 7499.com, you can send a special code to an email address. Apparently, last night, around the same time as the AR email was sent out, another email was also sent out to these game winners. Within it, purportedly (I've not seen the email or played it myself) was 3^3, which mathematically points to 27.com.

27.com, in turn, was updated yesterday (based on HTTP headers; I didn't know about it prior to yesterday so don't know if the UFO image was there prior). The time of update, plus the "AR" in the filename, plus the resemblance to "hostile takes over innocent girl's website" (ala Dana/ILB) is what is keeping the spec alive (for me, at least) until further notice.

Also, when the original Bungie person said they were not related, he threatened to lock or blacklist people who kept mentioning it. Granted, he's not working there now (so it could have been just his own inner policy), but the thread about 27.com on the Bungie forums is still going on -- 14 pages now -- without any official reproach.

Not doubting you, but how do we know Matt Asher owns 27?

whois 27.com. A standard trick of identifying website ownership.

Truly. People are bound to get carried away by potential infinite connections and leaps, and finally kill the whole thing due to rampant over-speculation.

It depends on your whois client, last I knew. If your whois client is "old", and only queries the internic server, it'll only report the original registrar. Modern day whois clients will follow the rabbit hole until a full record is received. Snippets from my whois (OS X 10.4):

That's what I find really frustrating about this ARG. ILB we got a sandbox to play in (ilovebees.com), but here we've just hit a brick wall for lack of content. Now it's just people randomly speculating away. C'mon Bungie, GIMME A REAL PUZZLE!. I hate waiting games...

Agreed. I am hopping for another 3:43 PM post from him. Since we still do not know what all that tick, tock nonsense was about, maybe it meant he will post at 3:43 PDT everyday? (One can hope anyway...)

Perhaps we should look to what the other ARG sites have dredged up. If nothing else they may give us new directions to look in.

Unfiction is pretty much the central source, if we haven't heard about then it's unlikely many others have.
