Sorry, I had always heard it used to debunk spec. Apologies.

Taken from halo.bungie.org community forum

I was looking at AR's gamertag thing in the compare games menu (Thanks KLind), and began trying to decode it.
Here's what I've got:
FNC013575663331 can be roughly translated from 1337 into FNCOIESVSBBEEEL, which can be rearranged to form I LOVE BEES FNCESB (FNC365, etc)

Now, here's where things get really REALLY interesting. The only reference AR has made specifically to any user in a forum post was CorvetteHalo3. And guess what, a search for FNC returned These Results (thanks Injunfett).

So where does that leave us? If you scroll over Corvette's name, you find that the FNC being referenced is FOX News Channel. What if whatever happens tommorow at 12(?) is on FOX news (thanks, Ironlion)? Perhaps too coincedental, but as Avateur pointed out, this IS BUNGIE we're dealing with.

The question which lingers in my mind is what the deal is with the 365 (356, 536, 563, 653, 635) at the end of the FNC. Was that the post number for that user?

Additional thanks for these theories goes to:
Impervium
Pedro the Penguin
j41m3z
ibeechu
vlad3163

This is a pretty tenuous link, with lots of leaps of faith, but it's the certainly the most interesting theory we have so far. We'll see what happens with this tomorrow. I'll definitely be on the forums to see what the individuals brave enough to watch faux news tomorrow have to say.

Anyone else humming the Halo 3 theme while reading this? Wink

I don't know if anyone has said it in this thread, but the coordinates point to north Kenya. Another Africa link.

I haven't played an ARG seriously since ILB. This is all sorts of exciting.

(now, to try to remember my account name on this site...)

More specifically, the coordinates point to Voi. CorvetteHalo3 said "I know about Voi" to which Adjutant responded with the coordinates. He later states that Voi is irrelevant. Although he certainly appears to be looking for something.

Bear in mind that Microsoft own a competing news channel. Would they really start relaying ARG clues via their competitor?

Well this is for sure very interesting. With the Halo 3 beta ending, and that long gap until the games release it seems now would be the prefect time for an ARG to keep people interested.

Will be watching this for sure, and *yawn* 4am est? come on Smile if I stay up it better be worth it:)

my thoughts exactly, while the abov was a well thought out process, and makes sence; i doubt it would be true, unless of course microsoft announces a large scal corporate teakeover of fox boradcasting, which would just get them in more trouble.

I assume no authentic confirmation has been given by the XBL account? Very suspect.

Considering it was mentioned that B.net would be the source of communication and that AR was going into hibernation until the countdown was ended, I think we can assume this is a hoax until proven otherwise.

Hoping for a video that ends with a link. Maybe something to hornets or wasps perhaps.

For those unaffected by massive Halo spoilers, here is a little info on Voi, which provoked AR to respond with coordinates and then later to dismiss it's relevance:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Voi is mentioned on the Halo 2 soundtrack in a composition entitled "Road to Voi." Voi is a small city in the Eastern African country, Kenya. Africa is central to the Halo story arc thus far, playing a prominent role in the campaign and in the Ilovebees ARG, in which a Forerunner artifact was found, and it's activation sequence begun. It is believed to be "The Ark." The Ark is thought to be involved in the firing sequence of the Halo Array and possibly was a "seed" sent by the Forerunners to populate Earth with sentient life after the last Halo event, nearly 100,000 years in the past.

Voi was also mined out of the Halo 3 beta code as one of the campaign level. "Voi" and then "Flood Voi." If the artifact is indeed integral to firing the Halo Array and destroying the Flood, then it stands to reason that Gravemind would be more than interested in sending forces to Earth to stop the sequence.

Kind if muddled, I admit, but it's early and I've only had ten cups of coffee.

When inputting the coordinates previously given, one is taken to a location near the northern border of Kenya and Etheopia. This is a remote location situated between the villages of Sololo and Turbi. Perhaps, given the significance of Africa, this could be the stage for some upcomming event in the storyline....

I just found this thread and I wish I would have when people were talking to the guy.

If there is someone still in contact with him, try sending him this message:

"X.XX.713> ghost.713/non-auth/activity ongoing"

Its worth a try as that was the message hidden in the 3d warthog picture.

We haven't been able to figure out what that was for, and this could be it.
