[META] SPOILING FINAL ANSWERS?
No Spoilers for the last day?

Hi y'all. Long time lurker, first time poster.
Been playing along and loving/hating that a bunch of companies got me hooked on this stuff.

In the last (Part One) thred a couple people made the point htat this is a contest and we shouldn't be giving answers, etc.

I see both sides on this (Libra in me) and have been giving it some thought:

Since This is a Prize Contest...
Can we all agree NOT to spoil the final final answers?
Who done it and where he is?

Most of us seem to be smart and industrious people - but I KNOW that some people MUST be just coming here to get answers and not doing the thinking themselves and that bugs me more than a little.

Especially when it comes to figuring out the ending which I assume determines who wins a share of the prize. It looks like you have to solve the last day to be eligible.

I don't know. We joke about getting coupons for Applebee's but if the guy is right about not that many people going to Sonia's blog, etc. then maybe there COULD be a little money to go around. I'd be psyched to get $50 or something for my troubles after obsessing on this crap.

Maybe it's not managable?? Making an FORUM PACT???
I've never played an ARG before (unless the origninal Dungeons & Dragons counts) but I'm guessing that giving this "CONTEST" the ARG treatment doesn't totally fit.

(sorry for the long post... that's what happens when you bottle it up and lurk!)

Oh, I guarantee you that'll be the case until after the entry deadline. As much as this forum values the community aspect, it's a MOSTLY universal thing here that those who think they're on a hot track that's kind of tough and will reward them individually, they won't share with the group until they've either gotten as far as they can or they've found what they need to and then share once the prize (or sub-prize/recognition/yadda yadda) has been won (note that nobody but nobody has posted the actual final answer even though it is known?). That being said it's rather silly to say "don't share the last answer" with how many of the people who are new to this genre would never have gotten to the final day w/o the spoilers in these forums that they suddenly wouldn't share if the last puzzle is more difficult.

Whether final day spoilers are given or not, nobody's getting $50 out of this. Just about every search on the topic brings up unfiction before the actual game sites. As far as ARG's go, most require a community to sort through everything. This one does not, and is freakishly easy for anyone who's played these types of games and moderately fun/challenging for those who have not. For every person who's posted spec, I'd wager there are 50 who are lurking and not posting anything. I'm betting they're going to pay more for postage than they are for prize money.

 Shelfish people
Share and share alike

I find it ammusing that the people asking us not to share the final answers are people that have stumbled onto this site while searching for the game. It has taken a community of people to solve this thing, it was somewhat easy, but they threw a curveball or towo in and more importantly; we were contacted by Deep-Focus in regards to our resourcefullness. I don't know why they would do a national contest and split prizes with everyone unlessd they intended not to administer winnings to begin with. Our 25 cent gift certificate is just a formallity, they never wanted one person to win one prize, they wanted everyone to win and eat, slepp, and poot suzuki, applebee's, and Court TV. They were successful. In closing, get a job and quit whinning about our forum. We all won the second Deep-Focus contacted us saying: "Can we plaease have our privacy?" If you didn't want to see a bunch of people win, you shouldn't have sponged the rest of your answers from us.

Special thnx to the site administartors and Grinder who I have seen repeatedly in the post that make sense.

Anyone have a link to the next game we can exploit?

Thanks for the appreciation! I'm glad a lot of people appreciated my input... it was the only redemption for all the time I wasted on this scam.
