dumb game

I too put grant on 8 North cherry street. I think he committed a murder with the camera of Sonia's. That's why it's garbled, he ran back and beat Sonia to death with it.

I wish! Laughing

Seriously though,

Did anyone ever think that 22-RR Bibby St. could be a railroad station?

RR for railroad, St. for station and not street. They've gotten so many things wrong in this game I figured they could screw up the station abbreviation also. And especially since they typed out street for the Cherry address. I was curious what others though.

Thanks for reading.

Email?
Thank you for playing, the game is over....

Following along with what was posted in the Trailhead thread, there is apparently an email going around from Christina saying the game is over and thanks for playing. Somone I know got that email...he answered Grant Tenbrook and "Cherry Street". I did not receive that email as of yet. I answered Grant Tenbrook and "8 North Cherry Street" all spelled out with no abbreviations.

I don't know if it is just taking a long time to cycle through all the contestants, or if one of us is correct and the other isn't.

Interesting, anyway.

I got both of the questions correct, but have not heard from anyone. Did any of you get an email telling you that you won?

Im pretty sure that "RR" is for "Rural Route" - a common mailing abbreviation. Never seen it WITH a street name though... Confused

 Email from Christina
3AX9RL

I put in 2 answers, 1 at about 2am CDT and the other about 4am CDT. Because Address hasn't been 100% clarified, I don't know which is correct, but I only received 1 email (at 6:02am Central Time)

I work in a huge office complex and 23-RR Bibby St. in an address would refer to an office located in Bldg 2, Floor 3, Suite RR on Bibby Street. However, I do agree that the RR could stand for Railroad and St. could be an abbreviation for Station.

I received this email also, but no video. Has anyone actually viewed this video?

Thanks.

I don't think it was Cherry Street!

I chose Grant and 23RR Bibby St. for several reasons:

1. The place that Andrew was being held looked like a train car to me. It had what looked like to me 2 side doors like a RR car would have. Others kept speculating that they were either windows or filing cabinets. The "room" was elongated like a train car, and the "windows" were not level with the ground, just like the side doors of a train car would be.

2. The RR in the Bibby St. address could stand for Railroad.

3. I didn't pick Cherry Street, because to me, it never sounded like that was what the kidnapper was saying. Others were saying that it sounded like Curry, Curvey, Kirby, and so Bibby sounds close to that. People kept saying they heard a "V" sound in the second part of the word, so that could be the "B" sound in the second part of Bibby. Maybe they originally had Grey Corner in the video, but when lots of people started accessing the videoes too soon, they dubbed over it, so part of the GR could have been left in when they were dubbing it, making it sound like the hard C everyone says they heard.

4. When you view the page source for the kidnapper video, it has the word "greycorner" in it.

5. When the kidnapper said "Andrew is AT so-and-so", he could've been saying "AT Bibby St.", which means "AT Grey Corner" (which was probably what was in the original video before they dubbed over it). When someone refers to a place in their town as "so-and-so Corner", they say they were At so-and-so Corner. No one ever says they were AT so-and-so Street. They would say they were ON so-and-so Street.

That's my take on this, anyway. I guess we will find out soon.

No answer from contest yet because...

I was awake about 4 am this morning, in the really long thread. Someone was telling that it turned out the rules were a problem, were miswritten. The rules stated that people could register all the way up to 6 am eastern this morning and, legally (as a player DID catch it) the contest has to abide by it - which may be why the site is now down and we've not received any real answers. There are people who've just started playing.

I would try to search and see if there's been a change to this but I'm not sure how?

Bibby St. Address

23-RR Bibby St. could also stand for Bldg 2, Floor 3, Suite RR, or Bldg 23 Suite RR Bibby Street.

I used that address too because in the garbled part, I heard a 'K' sound (Corner), then an 'R' sound (RR), then an 'E' sound (y on the end of Bibby) and finally the word Street. I A$$umed that the audio skipped and what the Kidnapper said was, "Grey Corner 23RR Bibby Street" but who knows.

but why would they waste their time re-dubbing (grey corner to bibby st.) if it's the same answer either way. doesn't make sense.
