Deciding on a demographic?

So, I'm a freshman at college and I figured a nice way to make friends would be to start up an ARG. I've got a way to advertise it for both those who know what an ARG is and those who just think of it as a "scavenger hunt with a plot" as I explained it to them.

The question is the clues for the scavenger hunt. I want to make them easy at first, for the majority of players, the people who are new to ARGs. (I'm still really new myself, esp with cyphers and codes, but I've run basic scavenger hunts and have done storytelling, and this is mostly just combining the two) I'm planning on eventually get more challenging as the players learn/I learn how to make better clues.

But.. what about the people I know on campus who have played a lot of ARGs, and are really interested in the one I'm starting, but want a challenge? Should I make like... side-clues for them that are more challenging because they know what they're doing? Or should I just keep it one single thing and say "Suck it up, other people are new to this." (but not that harsh, obviously)? It would be a LOT easier for me time-wise to just make it one thing, esp since I don't have much exp in PMing.

I'm not sure how much sense this question makes... I hope I explained it alright.

First for experience, make it ONE adventure. How many people are on your PM team? You're going to get overwhelmed if you are doing this yourself.

Good rule for a first timer: KISS (keep it sanely simple). Teach the new folks, get a rep for providing a good experience, and your next one can be a little more complex (and you'll have more people playing). Build on each game and have fun. If you make it too much work for yourself, you'll burn out and not even finish the first one. Then you have lost your audience for anything in the future. Don't disappoint anyone that way.

Thank you for the advice!

Yes, I am doing this myself somewhat. I have a friend at another college who has been helping with planning, but 95% of it is just me, my friend acting as more of guinea pig/sounding board. I've been asking around campus if anyone would help with controlling the game as a team, but everyone I ask just seems busy all the time.
I'm considering putting a few Help Wanted flyers up, actually, but I don't know how I would word it exactly... I go to a small school, so trying to explain the ARG thing and what I would need help with is somewhat time-consuming.
At this stage in the game, however, it's just posting on a blog, typing up patient intake forms/transcripts/ect and hiding them around campus with riddles or clues to the location on the blog. -knock on wood- So far, I've been able to handle the pre-planning by myself pretty well.
