Where are the Cows?
Robert Abbott's infamous puzzle in flash game format

In 1966, Robert Abbott made a logic maze (a fancy term for "mazes with rules") that has been called one of the hardest puzzles ever made.

I reproduced it as faithfully as I could in photoshop, you can download this JPEG and print it out to play on...

But if you'd prefer to play online, I just found out you can.
A guy called Luc St-Louis has made a little online game of it at this site, where the markers are highlights and the boxes are called "cells." It keeps track of the rule change in box 60, and everything. It looks a little different but it's an exact reproduction.

I just heard about it a few days ago, and I still haven't managed to solve it. Can you?

Does Luc have bandwidth issues, because I can't get the game to load on either of two cpmputers. No errors, just a big blank page.

Hmm... the page loads just fine for me, I don't know what to say.

Come to think of it, I think it's javascript, not flash. What version of java do you have installed?

Well, in that case I'm afraid I don't know what the problem is. Crying or Very sad

still, you can print out this version and play it with two coins as markers.
