Just looked up June 21, it appears to be the date of the summer solstice...

That would make the time over there 9:50. The voicemail leads me to believe that it's just not set up yet.

So, if the countdown is local, but the message doesn't change, it looks like they have to manually change it or it's set to change on a server side clock. Either way it doesn't look like we can brute force this page.

Figured this should go in here.

Ok... I am calling BS on this as a canon source. Myspace blogs can easily be 'pre-dated,' meaning that I can make a blog entry right now, but pre-date it to a month, two months, even three months ago if I wanted to.

So far, I only see two things that connect him to the ARG: one blog post, and the banner that appears on top of his blog home page. The blog post could have been done this morning, and then pre-dated to make it look like it was posted before the AR's 1am 'event.' As for the banner, if you sniff around his pages, you'll see he lists 'web design' as a talent. It's a nice banner, but I've seen enough professional looking sig's to know that it wouldn't be hard to fake a 'bungie-esque' banner.

So with only two shoddy-at-best connections to the ARG, and indicators to the contrary that too many to list, I'm pretty sure this guy is just an emo faker that is trying to cash in on the latest craze among the 16-32 crowd right now, to help boost his self-promotional efforts. If it turns out to be something, then so be it, but you won't see me giving the dude free publicity, or wasting one second picking appart his photos in my text editor.

Thoughts?

Spec on Avery:

Actor hired by Bungie (or whichever arg company is working for them this time) who may have put stuff on his myspace page early.

Note that this HAS happened before with actors and their IMDB entries (I think it was IMDB, anyway)

I'm on the fence after finding the picture with the wings/iris references. I say wait until he can be contacted somehow.

Sorry, I am 'annonymous.' Forgot to log in after signing up. Like I said in the other thread, I'm hesitant to accept something with so much going against it after the XBL gamertag hoax.

An interesting thought.

I think the thing that makes it interesting is not only the SOTA stuff (found a short while after the original .65, and the .63 bruteforce find) and that picture. Iris: with wings and the flower in the hand.... Makes it really enticing and a bit hard to deny.

On the other hand, if it is a fake, then great job at doing it.

EDIT: On second thought, the thing that I think clinches it for me is the SOTA stuff on the site, when we had to bruteforce our way into the .63 site.

The timing, and the picture, makes it a bit too coincidental to be a fake.

Then again, I may be wrong.

?

If it is fake Avery is damn quick about everything, and his picture with wings and an iris is a lucky coincidence.

The clock is based off of the local time used by your computer, so many people already have the day ticked off...

He IS an actor.... they hired him for take a few images and post a few blog entries, that sounds perfectly reasonable to me.
