mtv never fails; i'm surprised it took them this long, and i'd be really surprsed if they haven't said something on air.

some intresting bits in the mtv-article i think, not clues or anything, but 'noticeable things'

like:
Quote:

It turns out these oddballs didn't know anything about Halo 3. But they sure knew a lot about aliens...

so it looks as if the characters themselves don't know about H3 ( or at least have been told to act as if they don't know )

I really like this whole 'protest' thing...

the people that get drawn into this via this flyer will have loads of fun trying to figure it out... Cool thing is that they are using kind of 'accepted' theories of Aliens bringing knowledge to humanity ( this theory is allready around since the ancient times when gods would give knowledge to humanity ), this makes it look more 'real' Smile

I'm really curious about what answers SOTA will offer us...

plus in the video, either that guy can act really well ( and has been informed really well ) or this guy actually believes what he is saying ( maybe not neccessaryly the 'ancients' part, but definetly the "knowledge from outer space"-part ), i mean i don't think we've accomplished all without any help either... but that's a whole different story Very Happy

If this protest was in game, then the SOTA site was supposed to be found today?

I wonder if the countdown site will have the symbol on it in the future, or if it is there and just has not been found.

New Transmission log data

/confirm bounce alignment/
Confirmed - Alignment Request Compiling

Hibernation Resumed

Makes me think this is definitely AR. Any other thoughts?

[Spec] SOTA Website

I think that our next step with this website is to find a hidden site within the SOTA set of websites. It's just a hunch, but I think that something like the typos will lead to a word tacked on to the standard web page which opens a new yet to be viewed web page.

Bah, my "DoYouGrok@206.16.223.63" email just bounced. So that doesn't work either.

I went to the membership sign-up and when the e-mail box pops up no e-mail adress is there to send to.

It's definitely AR.

My thoughts? If this wasn't an ARG, and it wasn't happening now, I'd say that it was referring to the alignment of the Halo's. At the end of Halo 2, when the Halo's were readied to fire, I'm sure some type of alignment had to happen. Thought, this is negated by the fact that none of that has happened yet, so I've got nothing.

Just because we know the Halo's don't fire in 2007 doesn't mean there won't be an attempt that we'll have to stop.

Cool

I've actually been thinking along the same lines. BUT, something that just hit me... Do the Halos have any sort of propulsion system or are they just in orbit around larger bodies? How would they re-align?

EDIT: Unless we're talking about alignment as in planetary alignment.

The only problem I have with the theory that the typos are a code, is that it doesn't make much sense in the story... why would SOTA be hiding a code in their site? I think we want there to be a code so we have more to do... our first process should be thinking along the lines of realistic developments and reasoning... if that doesn't hold up, then we suspend belief for a moment and start pawing at anything that could be a puzzle or code Razz

I think it's quite plausible the typos are there on purpose to create an 'amateur' site, just as the graphics are very "90s". The fact they're still there means they much be there on purpose - leaving two choices: either it's a code, or it's the website being 'in character'. I'm voting the latter at this point...

It's possible that the author of the website could be trying to transmit a secret message -- either by choice (to communicate with friends) or by necessity (to escape detection from a watchful enemy?).

I also think it's unlikely that these typos are purely for aesthetic reasons, since many of them seem like they'd be difficult to type accidentally. Many of the added characters are too out-of-the-way to strike unintentionally.

One of our members came across a website that also contains this symbol (206.16.223.65) but it's much to early to determine if this is valid evidence of Ancients.

However we already know that leads to the countdown clock, and that the Glyph/symbol is no where to be found on that page! Is this just because we are ahead of the PMs or is it there and we have not found it yet?

Actually, if you look that all those little bips and bobs in the background behind the countdown?

I would bet money that as time goes on that they will come into focus and we'll see the symbol.

They already kinda look like it if you back up a bit
