'roll up the rim to win' is a well known Tim Horton's slogan for their recurring coffe cup promotion... not sure if other company's have used it, but I'm guessing it's not got anything to do with Tim Horton's Razz

At best IMO it might that something's hidden along the rim in the image? But its value might just be in the title as a pun itself, and there's really nothing in the image. *shrug*

It means he has excellent taste in coffee. Laughing

I don't think we have to stop SOTA from firing the Halos.
Rather I think we have to stop them from finding the ARK; because if they find it now, the story line for Halo would be altered as humanity would have already know about the ARK (though maybe not by that name) for ~500 years. Nonetheless, after the first Forerunner structures were found, they would have started connecting the structures to the Ark on Earth.

Also as far as the glyph being the background on the Transmission log, I suggested that a while back, but no one seemed to try my suggestion (and I suck at photo manipulation, so my attempt was a disaster.)

What are these thingies doing inside the Transmission Log website ?

LE: Sorry about the long line. I've wrapped it now

LE2: NVm, it's just asp.net jibberish.

a comment was made on that blog post by a myspace user named "cortana". she lives in Marathon (!!!) Greece.

her myspace page first said, "keeper of the flame" then said "only the beginning."

Either in game.. or a player/lurker.

It is encoded text, in base 64. If decoded, it matches the text on that page, more or less. I noticed this with the last two versions of the Transmission Log.

The decoder I used is at :

http://www.opinionatedgeek.com/dotnet/tools/Base64Decode/

If you take everything that is inside the quotation marks there, it will output something like this:

 -160364543dfddd innerhtmlF/confirm bounce alignment/
Confirmed - Alignment Request CompilingdHibernation Resumeddd]9i.K1zQf?g

The one thing that has been consistent between the three is that number: -160364543. It probably is still server-type jibberish though.

I think she's way OOG.

missing letter anagram

Hi everybody, I mostly lurked in ILB, but did some anagramming.
From 'dndsndpsrdnsreeateotoa~e--',
I got 'a desert sand portends end', but with a single 'o' left over, and not using the dashes or tilda. It fits the story, but there's a lot of letters of common usage, and with an 'o' missing, it doesn't mean much.

Hey everyone. Just another lurker from ILB coming back.

I thought I'd look into the books mentioned on the SOTA site since I vaguely remembered them being sold on TV..
Quote:
When I first started SOTA in 1995, I was living in Santa Fe, NM. A neighbor (Aaron Elliot, our current SOTA membership chairman) and I were talking during a backyard BBQ when the conversation turned to a book series (bought on TV and popular at he time) dealing with unsolved ancient mysteries. After a 2-hour discussion, and a brief foray into Aaron's duplex to find the mysteries book, I became quite interested in ancient artifacts and their relationship to possible extra terrestrials.

I'm assuming he means the Time-Life "Mysteries of the Unknown" series. Here's the Wikipedia entry on the books, but it doesn't have much.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mysteries_of_the_Unknown

I also found a site that lists volumes of various book series. Nothing really interesting or unusual about it. However, what caught my eye is that the page for the "Mysteries of the Unknown" series was just updated today.

http://www.volumelists.com/detail.php?ser=Mysteries%20of%20the%20Unknown

Here's a whois for the website..

The site probably has nothing to do with the ARG and the recent update is a coincidence, but I thought the books themselves might hold some clues.

For the letters, The first apostrophe is one of the missing "letters". The one at the end of your sequence is not there, unless someone else found one on the Members page.

i have tried this, ive flipped and rotated and stretched the glyph as much as possible, and it just doesnt fit. if someone wants, ill throw the psd file up here for them to double check it.

This Cortana character is either way OOG or obscenely and obscurely hinting to us.

She said the lake looks very familiar to her, as if she'd seen it in a game recently, and even though I've played halo 2 through only once, I did go back to do easter eggs.

That lake is in directly resembles that lake near the Delta Halo level. The one with the secret easter egg floating button wayyyyyy out in the lake.

As for hidden dealies in the image, there has to be SOMETHING there, and I'mma go scan it a bit.

**EDIT** What are those oddly looking white splotches along the right side of the water-meets-land rim?

i think the white splotches are just snow/ ice that were still around from the winter when the picture was taken.

I can't argue that she is in game, but just to thoroughly shed light on any possible relation to Halo 3 and the game...

Based on all of the content that Bungie has released in videos and advertisements, the story of Cortona looks to be a very important/central story in Halo 3. Many expect Halo 3 to really flesh out the "life" of Cortona, since she appears to be going rampant.

It wouldn't be surprising at all, if this game was going to further develop or lead into that story.

But like I said, she very well may be OOG and this all means nothing to the ARG. And, even if this game is going to talk more about Cortona, even that doesn't mean that this person is a part of that discussion. Just thought I'd reiterate the few things that I do know.
