Oh also theres a message in one of the audio tracks that follows the classic scheme of being revealed if played backwards.

Quote:
...I have walked among men and angels for three thousand years. Time has no end... no beginning... no purpose.

I wander the earth, seeking forgiveness for my horrible crimes against God and man.

I live to see death, destruction, over the light, but the light cannot be extinguished.

I live in a prison of my own demise.

I am lost in time...

stolen from HBO.

To be precise, the backward masked poem can be most easily found on the Halo 2 OST, Volume 2, on track 5: the song is labelled "Mausoleum Suite", as it's the music played in the cinematic wherein the Arbiter character meets with the Prophets in the Mausoleum. For what its worth, the target part of the song is called "Destroyer's Invocation" (for reasons as yet unknown) which is the first 4:36 of the suite. The dubbed vocal is much shorter yet.

Also, the composer of the piece (Marty O'Donnell) has publically stated that the above transcription of the poem is imperfect.

-- Steve isn't certain if this is in-game or not, but would greatly appreciate someone helping decypher the poem.

edited to fix some unclear phrasing

All the Halo story stuff is very interesting and it's a good resource to have in mind while trying to figure out what AdjutantReflex is and what his actions portend, but I think figuring out these long standing mysteries will only pull us away from the task at hand.

Although out of game but interesting nonetheless....The reference to Normal, IL on SOTA.com piqued my curiosity as I am from Bloomington/Normal. It could be a possible shout out to or from Steve Scott- Effects Lead at Bungie Studios. Steve is a fellow Illinois Wesleyan University Alum, and grew up in Normal, IL. Possibly a coincedence? Who knows... but most likely has little to do with the ARG.

Thanks to my girlfriend for helping make the connection, who by the way is not a gamer and hates Halo.

Someone on Bungie's forums found this site by searching for the mispelled Antikythere Mechanism mentioned on SOTA. Read the links at the bottom, it is suspicious, but I'm not sure if it's related.
http://www.aldo-disorbo.net/discovery.asp

Just had a look through those websites:

ok this aldo-disorbo-type, if he's not ITG, he's surely a strange fellow... and his website(s) is(are) even weirder...

basicly there's 4 websites about this guy:
http://www.aldo-disorbo.net
http://www.aldo-disorbo.com
http://www.aldodisorbo.com
http://www.aldodisorbo.net

all websites have similar styles and are equally vague about the person they talk about.
-----------------------------------------------------
http://www.aldo-disorbo.net:
Aldo's life:
Quote:

Born on April 18th, 1960, in Switzerland
Aldo diSorbo wrote his first book when he was only 25 years old, while being the assistant manager of a 5 Star Hotel. His book promoted a new theory for the question 'where do humans come from?' . His book became rapidly a success and in the years that followed and his work was translated in various languages.

Aldo's findings:
Quote:

Aldo studied several ancient holy writings, which helped him gain the skills he used thought his career.
In his adolescence, Aldo was very attracted to anything that contained 'mysterious information' or 'unexplained enigmas'. Nobody really knows from where his belief that humans were in fact created by 'someone' or if someone influenced him in some way.

Aldo's discovery:
Quote:

After college, he found a business man that supported him financially in his search for knowledge. This person who wanted to remain anonymous was impressed by the dedication of young Aldo and by his commitment. He even proposed to him several trips abroad.

During the research he did, Aldo found many 'pieces that just didn't fit' as he said. The trip to Egypt was the one who influenced him the most, as he acknowledges: 'One night, while I was studying the odd drawings and fossils, it just hit me! Human beings weren't evolved enough to do that. But some other intelligent creatures could.'

Aldo diSorbo also found artifacts that he said alleged to represent technological knowledge not compatible with that moment of human-history. His greatest discoveries were artifacts discovered on the Easter Island and near Stonhenge.

These two places were the one that contribute to his theory enough for him to create the 'Antikythere mechanism theory' . The first thing he states is that these things have been created by alien visitors, or by humans, who learned how to manufacture them from these evolved beings.

During all the public arguments in which Aldo tried to prove his theories and that he was innocent, he was noticed by a large European publishing company. They were the ones that translated his first work in 32 languages and sold 40 million copies worldwide.

Moreover, they purchased the rights from two other books and they are now planning to make a full-length documentary. They have also recorded several lectures that he gave in different countries.

Aldo now:
Quote:

Aldo decided to move away from the too-populated large city so he chose a small mountain-village in Switzerland. Today, he lives there with his family, and he is working on a theme-park that will be build very close to Berne.

This park will have a special section reserved for him and his 'Ancient Astronaut Theory'. His also considering holding there the future conferences about his field of work.

My notes:
* Even though the websites mentiones his books all over the place, they NEVER mention the title to it.
* furthermore eventhough his book was translated into 32 languages and they sold 40 million copies of it, amazon has never heard of the guy
* same goes for google, looks like most google-finds link back to one of the above-mentioned sites
* also note the 'typo' on Stonehenge...

Aldo's life:
Quote:

Aldo diSorbo was born in May 23, 1972 and is a very famous international field hockey player.
He has participated, throughout his career, at several Olympics and was nominated two times as the "World's Best Player of the Year". At the beginning of his career, he was one of the youngest players to receive so many Olympic titles.
At the age of only 25, the team he was coaching became national indoor champions. Between 24 and 27, he managed to get his teams in the national playoffs twice, becoming a respected beginner coach in field hockey.

My notes:
* once again, shouldn't this guy be plastered all over google?
* also the olympic official website never heard of teh guy:
You searched for: Aldo diSorbo (0 result(s))

Aldo's life:
Quote:

Aldo Disorbo, was a Germanian-born U.S. theoretical physicist who revolutionized our understanding of matter, space and time with his two theories of relativity. Disorbo also established that light may have a particle nature and deduced the photoelectric law that governs the production of electricity from light-sensitive metals. For this achievement, he was awarded the 1921 Nobel Prize for Physics.
Disorbo did not, however, find immediate recognition. When he applied to the School of Berne for an academic position, his work was returned with a rude remark. But by 1909 his discoveries were known and understood by a few people, and he was offered a junior professorship at the University of Zurich. As his reputation spread, Disorbo became full Professor or Ordinariat, first in Prague in 1911 and then in Zurich in 1912, and he was then appointed Director of the Institute of Physics at the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute in Berlin in 1914, where he was free from teaching duties.

In 1939, Disorbo used his reputation to draw the attention of the President of the United States to the possibility that Germaniany might be developing the atomic bomb. This prompted U.S. efforts to produce the bomb, though Disorbo did not take part in them. In 1940 Disorbo became a citizen of the United States. In 1952, the state of Israel paid him the highest honor it could by offering him the presidency, which he did not accept because he felt that he did not have the personality for such an office. Disorbo was a devoted scientist who disliked publicity and preferred to live quietly, but after World War II he was actively involved in the movement to abolish nuclear weapons. He died at Princeton on April 18, 1955.

My notes:
* SOMETHING FISHY IS GOING ON with this guy!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aldo's life:
Quote:

Born in a small Eastern European country, in 1970, Aldo diSorbo is considered one of the most skillful writers of this century. His writings have been translated in 20 languages, and Aldo has even translated himself two of his books in Spanish and French. His career has had a lot of unexpected turns, going from non-fictional science-related writing to science-fiction. When asked why so many people like his books, he said that it doesn't really matter what you are writing about, the readers will like it only if you put 'your soul' into it. Considering his past and his creations, we are inclined to think that this is true, especially in Aldo's case.
Some of his friends considered that was the reason that made him change his writing career so drastically. Considering that saved enough money to survive without a '8 to 4' job, Aldo resigned from his job and refused to write more books on science topics.

Instead, Aldo used his experiments and research ideas to write a science-fiction best-seller that won a Hugo prize. 'I feel free writing in this style, and my imagination is constantly alive and looking for the new best thing,' said Aldo diSorbo in an interview.

Aldo diSorbo has gone through many career changes throughout his life, but he proved once again that every experience matters, and any type of knowledge is useful. His natural style and original ideas has helped him succeed in different fields, inspiring prospective writers to search beyond and to try new things.

Moreover, one cannot stop wonder if Aldo diSorbo's discoveries are indeed very accurate and that his science-fiction books aren't at all SF.

Aldo is working now on his second science fiction novel. His publisher said that Aldo is hoping for a trilogy, and in some ways to continue his previous work. 'The readers became very attached to his characters and we decided to keep some of them and to create a new adventure' says his current editor about Aldo diSorbo's next book.

my Notes:
* we have 4 websites, about 4 different ALdo's all of which seem to have accomplished great things, yet none of them are known outside these websites
* the first website has the exact wording ( which is completely off ) from the SOTA-site
* the first aldo is a 'scientist' that believes humanity was 'started' by an alien race ( forerunners anyone? )

I think we have to go through these sites we a bit more vigour Smile

Very nice Mistic! This does seem very fishy. If I remember correctly Albert Einstein won the 1921 Nobel for the Photoelectric principles they claim were won by diSorbo. Also, the first scientist who was concerned with aliens sounds a lot like Zacharia Sitchin to me. This is truly an interesting development. I wonder who the other two websites correspond to?

Agreed. I doubt they would have registered domains last year for this ARG. So far, it doesn't seem like they plan ahead a week.

I don't think it is in-game either.. but it is awfuly strange that there are so many anomalies between the sites, and real events. I mean, it has different birth dates for each page, different hobbies, etc.. what the heck!? Question

yeah that's my feeling too, but it seems it is the only site that has that specific way of writing 'Antikythere Mechanism'

it just seems TO strange not to mean anything...

4 sites about 4 guys with the same name, all of which have done 'great' things, but none of it seems real...

It might be that it's a different ARG or perhaps one that never became public, but it does seem to have similar subject matter to SOTA and it does spell Antikythere the same. So, who knows? Rolling Eyes
