Maybe what the countdown is counting down to is the reactivation of the robot SOTA found in Africa. Didn't Avery have a blog post that said the lights would activate but after a while they would shut down?

That could also mean that the robot they found is AR because it could turn on , post a message, then go back into hibernation. Does this sound possible?

Maybe the countdown is to when the Ark/forerunner structure/huge lazer beam opens up in Voi!

We need to inform the government

That theory does make some sense. Unfortunately, I think everything you mentioned there is now confirmed to be from OOG sources.

I know the two222222 guys blog was a hoax but I couldn't remember if Avery's was still IG. I'm still trying to catch up on some of this stuff.

Avery claimed on his facebook page that he was just a fan, not ingame, if memory serves.

I remember that too. Well that means my theory is busted.

Summer Solstice

I don't know if this has any bearing on anything but, Id like to add that as far as I can tell, Voi is in the southern hemisphere, so it would be the Winter Solstice there. That would also mean it would be the day with the shortest amount of daylight all year.

Also as far as the glyph being the background on the Transmission log, I suggested that a while back, but no one seemed to try my suggestion (and I suck at photo manipulation, so my attempt was a disaster.)

i have tried this, ive flipped and rotated and stretched the glyph as much as possible, and it just doesnt fit. if someone wants, ill throw the psd file up here for them to double check it.

I've tried this as well. I've reduced, fiddled with the levels, rotated, sharpened and so on... It... just... It looks like it could fit, but just doesn't. It's just enough correct that you look at it and go "Oh, I bet that's..." But it's enough not like it to drive you crazy when it doesn't fit. Very Happy

Agreed. I advise any of us burning to get into the SOTA as a member (which is hit-you-in-the-head-obvious participation territory) to limber our writing skill and make ourselves look like useful potential members. Stay AWAY from franchise keywords, just as the SOTA site does. Make yourself sound like an actor, not a player, since an actor will be much more useful to an ARG than a fanboy player who breaks storyline continuity will be. Play up some "parallel research" you've done, google some extraterrestrial organizations you can claim to be affiliated with (all's fair in love and ARGs); in short, be a good roleplayer.

I have to agree with all of this. That being said I'm very tempted to put "Beekeepers" in the field where it asks if you have any affiliations with other extra-terrestrial investigation groups. Because, that's kinda what we were.

There's more Cal down there?!?!

Wink

I think that the idea that everything is pointing to the solstice seems pretty solid to me. I definitely see the glyph/stonehenge resemblance, although I think its important not to just forget other possibilities until we have some sort of confirmation on that. Not to say there aren't other clues around, just that I expect that the big reveals will revolve around that date.

Yeah i was about to post the same thing compared to ILB. Except this time we already seem to have an AI construct that is aware, so what the heck else is deciding to wake up?

Edit 1: I do agree that everything seems to be pointing to the summer solstice, its a particular alignment of the planet and the sun. Except, damn it i i didnt pay attention in my current astronomy classes, because if the planet positions it self consistently to the back ground starts then something like a directional beacon/signal might be used for some reason. Or maybe its the alignment of the planet and the sun, but i am only mentioning this because of the Marathon series.

Oh... Hey...

What if the Glyph, is pointing out the positions of certain planets around the sun at the time of Summer Solstice or some over event? Or possibly constellations or other heavenly bodies around the Earth?

Sorta raises the question:

Were we to impose the glyph on an... (I suppose you'd call it an overhead view, although there's no real up and down in space XD) overhead view of the solar system with earth at the middle (This is what you were proposing, yes?) At what size and angle should we place it?

P.S.: Blarg. It feels like I've spent more time debunking theories than anything moving us forwards. Yuck.

No no. That's valuable. Don't worry about that.

I was thinking we would start with the solar system and then work from there.

Well i shall give your idea some thought, it is novel and interesting. But relating to the stonehenge spec in all the summer solstice pics theres only one ray but we are looking at 4 long rays and 1 short in the glyph

Sorry, but the only mention of SOTA and finding a robot was made by two2222 on myspace, but he was a hoax.
