Just FYI, my recent correspondence with CM immediately after the puzzle solve. Don't think it really tells us much more than licoricesniper's.

Quote:

As I'm sure others have sent, we cracked it down to "the upper room" and
"dips the bread" -- a reference to The Last Supper. Is Eric your Judas?

In any event, the question that matters more to me...is there more to
find from this clue (i.e. a video hidden somewhere) or have we opened
the door?

Well done! You've solved all the codes. What you haven't figured out is what they mean. That part I cannot tell you, but it is the reason for this entire task. This task is not over yet - it will eventually come full circle. And it has nothing to do with Eric.

CM

I sent him a little follow up exploring the concept of the betrayal a little more and asking questions, but he did not respond. I'm not sure what he means by "the task is not over yet" -- either we have to figure out what the references mean and what to do with them, or we're on hold until the next step, not sure which.

cm email

As everyone knows, we are in another waiting period. The good thing about this is that the CM usually comes back with enough to keep us busy for a while. So after checking my email repeatedly to see if I finally have a response from one of my emails, I come home to find one. I just asked if this next part was about someone that betrayed him since it's not about Eric. This was his reply.

Sorry to build up the suspense but I had to share the excitement with someone else. Needless to say, I'm a little confused. Maybe he is wanting us to set a trap for TDC. Somehow using our correspondence to figure out exactly who it is. This part confuses me because I don't think anyone has heard from TDC in a while and like I've said, the last couple of messages I've sent to "him" (through FET) have stayed in my outbox. If the CM doesn't know who to pass the bread to then where exactly is this next phase going?
Just a little thinking outloud since the threads have been quiet for a couple of days. But it is the weekend so hopefully something new is around the corner.

I was invited to the game by CM, and asked to tell him about myself. This is what I sent:

Quote:
My real name is of little importance (like yours,) as I hope my life will define my legacy, but you will know me as Jeralya. I am 18 from the midwest in the USA, and am planning on relocating to Chicago next year for school at university there. My father is from Syria, something that has created difficulty for him in his years within this country, but something I am fiercely proud (and often joking) of.

I am a political moderate with a strong penchant for social justice and a strong belief in God and family. My main passions in life are film and music, both which I am an avid pursuer of. Musically, I play bass and do vocals for a progressive rock trio moving to Chicago in August. From a film standpoint I am a filmmaker and critic (my favorite directors are P.T. Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, and David Lynch.) Much of my attraction to your mystique is your ability to make energetic and powerful shorts ( with INCREDIBLE music choices, if I may add.)

My greatest fears are my future, and the fear of change. I can explicate if you desire.

It has been my pleasure to inform you of myself, and I look forward to hearing more from you (try not to be too hard on Eric, eh?)

-Jeralya

I will let you all know his response, where is thehumanpet chat located?

Is there anyone in chat? I've had a hell of a time getting some bugs worked out with my computer not liking mIRC, but I think I finally got it fixed and I'm all alone in chat. Guess I'll just sing to myself.

I've been popping into chat but so far haven't seen anyone there. Maybe I should just stay there until someone shows up next time. Razz

As far as the trying to decide who to hand the bread to - Judas gave Christ over to the authorities. The CM could be trying to decide who will have the privilege of turning him in. <shrug>

Hey, guys, I'm back from Orange Beach, AL, stronger in the Lord and darker in the skin, lol.

Anyway, I come back and find everything solved. You guys did an awesome job with that code for the upper room. I know it's been mentioned, but it seems like since "the code pertains to me, the message pertains to you," thing means that one of us is the betrayer.

It's really late now, and I just spent 14 hours in a truck, so tomorrow morning/afternoon I'm going to do a little more research on Judas' characteristics just to see if they match up with anyone.

FYI, after I contacted CM I was also asked to tell him about myself. Here's the e-mail I sent in reply.

Quote:
Well, where should I start? I'm 18 years old and I'm starting college in a couple of months. I plan to major in Art, and my studies will focus in various forms of studio art and art history. I haven't decided concretely on a minor yet, though I'm thinking Business Administration.

I have a family, though we aren't all that close. My mother and father have been absent from my life from a very young age, so I live with my grandparents and my great-uncle. There is a lot of conflict in this house, but overall I do love the family I have, as hard as it is to express that at times. I also have three cats who I tend enjoy the company of more than most humans.

Is there anything else you would like to know about?

I haven't gotten any form of reply yet, and I don't know if I will. Just thought I should share, though.

Dear Mr. Deercot,

I have returned to enjoy more of your story. My apologies for lack of communication lately. I spent this past week in Orange Beach, AL, with the students in my youth group at a camp. It was amazing to see God's presence.

Also, if I may ask, who does it seem will be receiving your dipped bread?

By His Grace,
Scott

That seems like way too simple of a response. Does anyone here have a last name that can be connected to time? I'm still trying to tie in that "Last Clue: Surname Related to Next Step" clue from the Follow the Leader puzzle. The one with the time related surname could be handled the bread...

The next phase is definitely related to our profiles, because he is continuing to probe me with questions about knowing each other better, and explaining further, but he isn't giving me any sort of coded response. That would lead me to believe he is actually going to be using out responses (possibly against us.)

From me:

Quote:
Why do you want someone to betray you? Will it be one of us?

He replied:

Quote:
Nicole,

It's not what I want. But I believe it will, or has already happened. And I will do whatever it takes to stop it.

CM

I don't get this whole thing I guess... if he is the kidnapper guy why does he think we are on his side in the first place? Or why should we be?
