It seems that we might be speaking to the missing minor literay characters via phone. Of the books I've read, some of them were a very long time ago so I'm a bit shaky on the details. I was thinking of bringing a couple of books in case we needed a quick reminder of who the character on the other end of the phone actually is.

Ah! I see. I only have Pride and Prejudice, so that's all I can help with I'm afriad. All my other books are not with me in my current abode, so to speak. Would you like me to bring P&P?

Also, just a note to those not coming to the shenanigans tomorrow; do stay on the unforum around 12-1pm. I'll be able to access the Internet on my mobile (signal permitting) and if we need your resources for anything I'll let you know!

I've just finished an English Literature degree but in my haste to move I donated a large proportion of my cheap paperbacks to the Oxfam Bookshop. Bah. I do have paperpacks of Great Expectations and Frankenstein which I'll be bringing, as well as Kafka's The Trial (only because I'm reading it at the moment).

There's a few bookshops in Swindon town centre so they could possibly be used in a cinch.

Great idea! That would be fantastic if anyone is around. Plus it would save me having to lug half my library round Swindon with me Embarassed .

It might be useful if you bring P&P - I'll bring Alice in Wonderland, Wuthering Heights and Dorian Gray. Hopefully they'll help.

I don't have any of the right books, I don't have any fancy internet connecting thingummies and I don't think I even have a scribbler entry. But I do have a very small digital camera and... well, that's about all I can contribute. But I will be there, trains permtting. After all, I spent so much time explaining why on earth I was going to Swindon tomorrow to various people this evening, it would be wrong not to.

I can bring knitting. There you go. That I can do.

I intend to bring my laptop, and to have PDF versions of all the texts on both that and my Palm Pilot (might make searching for things a bit easier, though I suspect it's somewhat against the spirit of this book-based malarky). I'll also have a Swindon street atlas and GPS in case we need to go around the town for anything. And a digital camera, though I will probably use my phone camera instead. My phone does internet too, should we need it. Truly, I am a geek! Geek What's that? Did I hear someone say "overkill"?!

I am sadly unable to provide any wool-based handicrafts, so I'll leave that to Pineapple.

I should be easy to spot (apart from a large rucksack filled with electronics Laughing ) - I'll be wearing a T-shirt with my avatar on it.

I won't be able to log on to the internet today (i. e. later today and most of tomorrow as well) since I will be stuck somewhere in the Franconian wilderness almost the whole weekend. Crying or Very sad Otherwise, I would be delighted to help ... Have courage, have fun!

Don't forget to bring the list of minor characters with you - according to Amy's latest post, this might be important.

She says there's no way of knowing if you've got them absolutely right until
you actually speak to them. Make sure you bring the list with you.

She says the lockword rings a bell, but her mind is still all confused. She
thinks we might need to find whoever did this to her and find out what they
did to Jasper's memory as well.

I look a bit like my avatar, only my hair is longer. And I'm not wearing pink and standing in Stonehenge, obviously. Smile

Well I look like nothing like my avatar, fortunately. I could bring the spider plant in question however it doesn't look like the avatar any more - my mum took it back after she deemed I wasn't taking good enough care of it (it was alive, that's good for me) and now it's having loads of baby spider plants. I preferred it my way.

Whilst the appearance of my former spider plant is interesting, that's not what I'm here for. Long brown hair that will be back in a ponytail, medium height, female (I always forget that one). If I'm there first or can't see anyone else and find a bench, I'll be knitting. And I may or may not be with an Amazing Tom, he wasn't sure last night. I might have to hijack someone else called Tom just to have a Slightly Less Amazing Tom.

I will probably buy a map of Swindon when I'm there to have something a little more useful than knitting. And because I get horrendously lost in towns I've lived in for years, so Swindon's going to be fun.

I might as well add to my description too: female, 5ft9, short brown hair, glasses, generally looks half-asleep and/or rather bewildered.

From those descriptions, you're all the same person aren't you?

Good luck and have fun Smile

Unfortunately I won't even be around to help out from this end today Sad

Good luck to all, and have fun!

I take it that you didn't end up needing any help seeing as it is now 3:46 and the most recent posts are about how everyone looks alike. (I would have fit right in!)

Looking forward to hearing about it when someone gets home...
