I think you're on to something here. The Ngorongoro Crater is very near these coordinates. This site is considered the 8th wonder of the world and is sometimes called "The Crater of Life"
Here's a link with a familiar looking tribe:

edit: fixed url
Also, someone posted that they thought the character in the new AR avatar was Maasai, and according to this site, they reside there.

Not to mention that this location in Tanzania matches up with the evidence on the SOTA site:

Plus, the satellite image look pretty sweet.

So what are we supposed to do with this information? Does anyone else have an idea of what to do next with all of this?

Well, I have about $10 I can put into the pot. The rest was just spent getting an Xbox 360 so I can play through the conclusion of this story and see the Covenant get annihilated.
Is there anyone in this ARG, either here or on B.net that lives close to Africa? Has anyone seen anything in the B.net forums?

Maybe we should ask about the crater? See if we get a response. I will contact "the entity fomerly known as AR" via PM with the coordinates and a message about what we know about the crater.

Good luck. As far as I am aware, neither entity has responded to any PM's outside of the conversations held with x FoMan123 x. You can be certain thousands have been sent.

Probably right. Here's what I sent:
"We know the coordinates:
1.12, 34.53 - The mountains over The Cradle of Life
Ngorongoro Crater is what it is called here. The tribes have witnessed you for a millenia."
Edit: In addition I will forward this to Foman to submit.

Well as far as we know right now Foman hasn't gotten any more responses from AR. So don't put your hopes up.

Well I just can't help but feel that part of our job is to restart that timer. Unless the new entity saved us by stopping it. AR sped the clock as the new entity approached. As soon as it gained control the first thing it did was stop the countdown.
AR was hoping to accomplish something before this new guy arrived.

I wonder if perhaps a designer got sloppy and left some info in the timer's .swf that we weren't supposed to have seen -- in particular, the whole "Timer is set to end on the 21st but is counting down to the 20th" thing. I know someone posted the parts of code where it shows some of that, but I almost wonder if perhaps we were supposed to have been thinking all along that the timer would hit 0 last night, and then the freeze happened, and then it will restart today and actually hit 0 tonight at midnight.
Eh, even reading it back to myself, it seems unlikely.

Heh, be prepared for "dead zones", Ace. ILB updated once a week, with maybe some mini-updates in the middle. But there will most likely not be something new every single day. (Give or take the trailhead, something has to gather interest...)

Actually, so far something has happened every day since June 11... impressive!
But granted, today has had the least as of this time of day...

Didn't the new AI say everything would be made clear today? I'm still pretty confused.
Mind you, that's not an unusual state of being for me.
