Caves of Mt. Elgon

http://faculty.jsd.claremont.edu/dmcfarlane/MtElgon/index.htm

That is a link from the wikipedia entry for Mt Elgon. Apparently it is home to some 'highly unusual' caves...

It is also not a million miles away from Tanzania , where a SOTA member reported the rock painting of the alien glyph.

If you'd like to see that in 3D, from a side angle:

Supposedly, it's the largest intact caldera in the world. If it matters, the town of Kitale is located in the foothills.

I'm at work, so I can't watch video, but would the topology seen in the Halo 3 trailer match that area?

Also, is there a top-down version? It almost seems that if you align the gap in the glyph to about 2 o'clock on the 3D map it might fit.

Stupid work not letting me do fun things...

wow this is impressive... you guys are awesome Cool

and SameBIGCHIEF, there is a thread specifically for SOTA related discussion right here - go ahead and repost the comment in that thread. And, get used to looking for relevant threads, or even better, use the Search feature, because there's nothing worse than getting conversations mis-matched across threads... it just adds to the confusion.
