[SPEC] Keybundle
The source code to the countdown page contains a hint...

I mentioned this in the Transmisson Log thread, but that one is full of other topics. Forgive me if I shouldn't have created this new thread. That said, here goes:

On the countdown page, the <span> ID uses the term "keybundle" to refer to the corresponding CSS to style the page. Considering these ID's are arbitrary, I felt there had to be some meaning by choosing the term keybundle. Some research into the term led me here: http://api.kde.org/kdesupport-api/kdesupport-apidocs/qca/html/classQCA_1_1KeyBundle.html

For those not wanting to follow the link, I will post the basic definition:

"KeyBundle is essentially a convience class that holds a certificate chain and an associated private key. This class has a number of methods that make it particularly suitable for accessing a PKCS12 (.p12) format file, however it can be used as just a container for a Certificate, its associated PrivateKey and optionally additional X.509 Certificate that form a chain."

Could we have been given the private key 001 012 034 053 for a reason? The above link is for a specific class used for cryptography in programming, however the term "KeyBundle" is used commonly throughout cryptography. The coordinate idea does in fact lead us to a very interesting location, so perhaps there are two meanings to giving us this sequence. However, I think we've been given a clue here.

This is possible - but private/public keys are usually quite long and random. Even if you run those numbers through conversions to different bases (hex, binary, octal, etc) you don't get a long enough string to be used in most situations.

Well, I'm not expecting them to provide us with a private key to be used in cracking some 128-bit RSA encrypted file/page...I'm just saying that the use of the term keybundle could imply that the numbers/sequence be used to unlock something.

(OOG Moment: We have to keep in mind that the majority of the audience are not crypto experts and have no idea what is involved. In fact, and I mean no offense, a quick look at the b.net forums will show you that Bungie will be catering to a LCD on this ARG. However, the general population could understand the idea behind a keybundle and in turn recognize the purpose of a sequence of numbers as a "key")

I guess you're right - it might be something for a future site - or it might be nothing at all

Well it was just a thought. It could of course be nothing, but I'm baffled as to why they would name that particular style ID "keybundle"

I mean "countdown-text" or "countdown-content" would be my choices as a web dev, considering it would need to be something future devs would need to understand. Although, since this is being built for an ARG, I'm assuming they know there won't be any need for future coders on the project. (Hence leaving the ContentPlaceholder1 default control name in the Master page)
