Why would Cortana present herself as AR?

Why would Cortana present herself as AR?

If it is following UNSC naming conventions, then an "Adjutant Reflex" would be a component part or subroutine, not an independent AI.

Allow me a second to throw out some insane specs about AR.

Perhaps AR is a sub-routine of Cortana, which she sent to Earth as a warning. However Gravemind has fully breached her security and thus found out about the warning, and pursued.

Add to this that the flood assimilated Captain Keyes in H1, whom was in fact Cortana's commanding officer on the Pillar of Autumn. Is it possible that Keyes had knowledge of how to breach/destroy Cortana in the event that the Covies were inevitably going to obtain her? and thus Gravemind now has the same knowledge.

Dunno, about AR coming from Cortana, but I am starting to think that AR is just some sub-routine and belongs to a bigger "process". AR's naming convention doesn't neatly fit with forerunner AIs (no exponent of 7 before the name), it doesn't speak like a religous zealot so prob not Covenant. The part about this other process "out ranking" him could kind of indicate his is UNSC, but it's still open at this point.

Perhaps this other process is a remanant of some opposing forerunner faction that wasn't exactly down with lighting up all the halos back in the day?

UNSC hasn't been invented yet.

AR's newest post.
Probably old or not a good lead. But my thoughts where:

He has milenia for refection: The Moon
But what image does he see?: Earth

Milenia are only thousands of years, not hundreds of thousands or even millions of years. But that's good thinking.

fair enough.

Now that I think about it, my guess would be its the gravemind/cortana superteam duo

Hmmm another thought if Milennia was related to stonehenge

Milennia for reflection of the sun and moon.... if you believe that stonehenge is part of the story arc. I found this page

OOG: STONEHENGE - The Marriage of the Sun and Moon

Jokes aside, I agree that AR might not be (or 'may not have been' since he's gone now?) a full on AI himself.

If you look up the word Adjutant, you get basically that an "Adjutant" anything (an officer) assists something (another officer) of high rank and does much of the grunt work in setting schedules and overseeing communications.

AR is probably a Reflex that assists either one or more other reflexes when they are triggered by whatever event that wakes them up. Or possibly even the Reflex that decides what Reflex needs to be activated.

This is supported by the mention AR makes "He outranks me anyway", as an Adjutant I'm sure a lot of... "people" out rank him.

So the question I have, which I'm not sure has much to do with this topic but this change maked the change in the countdown. It the timer has sped up, what is the new date and time it's counting down to?

Here's my spec:

AR is a program of human origin, somewhere between a program like SPDR and a full blown militar AI (remember those are based on human brains)... somehow come back in time to investigate an event (there are references to the relaivity of time in AR's posts). We do not know what this event is.

Additionally, there is now a forerunner entity (identity so far unknown) that an antagonist to AR. This new entity is probably the one behind the event.

Finally, this new entity is messing with the countdown, and exists in that website ("he plays with time even as he hides in its folds"). The countdown website will become the domain of "older life".

the Halo Zune comes pre-loaded with Halo content [music and videos].

Quote:
* Pre-loaded with music, artwork, trailers and videos from Halo, Halo 2, and Halo 3*
* Custom Halo graphics
* Special edition, customized packaging
* Exclusive episode of Red vs. Blue

the clue might be hiding on every Halo Zune, not just one.
