I am thinking the log is of the Ark's monitor, and that it became rampant (thus showing emotion in the transcript) and was left to defend the Ark (with Forerunners in it). So the theory is that The Ark's monitor activated the Halos early (notice it was the one issuing the command to do so in the log), and that some forerunners got stuck on the wrong side of the ark (which in another thread I theorize it as a wormhole to a protective dyson sphere), who eventually evolved/merged with humans.

The item that bugs me now is the string of "resets" I'm thinking that monitor was/brecame organic (like a Gravemind?) and got zapped with the Halo firing and reverted to its riginal form, trying to reboot.

Now the paradox of humans considered "unsuitable" for flood hosts may be written off by the notion that humans were not always 6-foot, 170lb average, but much smaller then, so we are near the cutoff of the flood's appetite zone. therefore, the Halos did not take out humans, but will in the future, where we got guys like Spartans and football players on steroids. This would point to Earth as the ideal site to wait out the flood in the Ark, knowing at some point, we would evolve enough to figure out how to "reclaim" the ark, hopefully waaaaaay after the flood have been gone.

The bacteria/virus being shown to us is what's left of the flood in nature (it was the lab flood that remained that nasty), as it becomes starved of "food" and had to devolve into this weaker strain.

Just a theory.

What if AR is a rampant AI and it doesn't want to set off the rings when they should be as indicated by the Forerunners then it would make sense that Guilty spark is his attakcer given his obsession with protocol and his seemingly lack of emotion.

Just some minor additions that may amount to nothing:

There are 104 "reset………………………….." lines
There are 15 "Array Authorized…_" acknowledgments

"Confrm: wpnt {auth}"

Confirm is spelled wrong if that is what it is supposed to be. "wpnt" have any meaning to anyone? It seems like it has something to do with the authorization of the Halo sequence.

That's all I got :/[/i]

If I may give a theory on the reset lines?

My own workstation here also keeps a log, and our systems reboot every night automatically. So in our log we see a string of reboots (although with a little more details) in between anything important in the log.

It could just be that the system reboots regularly, and the line of resets is there to indicate time passing.

Line of resets

So would it be possible to determine the time interval between resets?

We may find discrepancies in the timing. We may need to understand if 100,000 years is 100,000 years, since we are assuming the common time interval is one second . . .

How many arrays?

So, just a quick question. Why were there 15 Arrays authorized if there are only 7 rings? Any thoughts?

Each ring twice and the Ark once? Each ring once and eight Arks? Each Monitor once, each Reclaimer once, and the Ark? Dunno.

-- Steve's hoping we'll get more data and will be able to figure this out from that. Right now, we just don't have enough to come to a conclusion.

Well each authorization says "Array authorized" and the Halo array is all seven Halo installations, correct? So I imagine that this is some kind of authorization redundancy, i.e. it takes 15 different codes to activate the array or something like that. But who knows.

My spec is once for each ring (7), once for each shield world (7 seems likely), and once for the ark.

May have been mentioned but, "Sphere secure..." and "Confrm: Array burn radium..." are particularly interesting. Radium is a pure white, extremely radioactive material. A mass radiating pulse? Would certainly wipe out any biomass capable of sustaining the Flood if enough of it could be generated. And what is this sphere it's referring too? Containment of sorts?

okay, so this speculation on the story is great but i feel like we've hit a really hard wall. are we supposed to find something in everything they gave us? a new ip? anything? or are they just going to open some new site and spoon feed it to us?

I'm betting on the latter.

Wait and see. We have to have another lead into the next server and there's those kooks at the Society of the Ancients readying their website to register new members.

I wouldn't just sit around with your mouth open waiting for that spoon to airplane it's way in. You might miss out on a fun experience.

i'm just trying to search for ANYTHING. But out of everything I feel like the Array Record might have something in it. Just look at it all of the numbers!

Ha ha. Nice.

I am sure some participation will be required, I am just figuring the triggering event will be something that comes from Bungie. If there were puzzles in the new images / logs, we would have found them by now. Either that, or the puzzles/clues are so obscure, we can't tell whether they are even there. Either way, the next move is Bungie's. Since this whole thing was supposed to take "several weeks," I'm figuring maybe a server a week. At least, that's how I convince myself that I am not going to sleep through the next event if I go to bed tonight.

We'll see. If there's a company that's tuned to it's fan base, it's Bungie.
