Fake edit: the white one is defiantly the one in the starmap. the other 4 I can't really tell that easily.

It also looks like a line of similar symbols along that same face. Looks to be 5 of em. Ill bet they light up as we unlock the servers.

Hey, anyone play the awesome 3d rts Homeworld?

"Hiigara- Home." anyone?

Basically a symbol on a "galactic map" pointed to their homeworld, discovered many eons after the history of space flight was forgotten. It had a long extended arm with a circle at the end.

Just thought I'd remind my fellow RTS'ers in here.

(It could be their homeworld, or possibly the source of the Flood.)

Good call about the symbols counting, though, because they do each have a different open region.

I like the idea of putting the star chart on the other picture, since they were the only two found. However, it would be good to know that the paths found in the biological pic seemed to relate to an INVERTED image (180 deg rotation). Try doing that and putting them on top of each other.

Could there be any significance to the fact that the arm in the star image that now terminates in a circle is the only arm that in the SoTA image that doesn't even extend to all the way to/past the circumference of the glyph's outer circle? Also, it looks like the ring that was previously in the middle of the glyph was just moved to the end of that arm.

SPECULATION

Expanded from previous post:

That center circle in the original could be a Dyson Sphere. In the second, it has been transported elsewhere. Note the segment has been extended and at the end is the small circle.

To bolster my crazy theory, we have this little gem from our old pal, Adjutant Reflex:

Quote:
Who is the path of light from blackest Earth to brilliant heaven?

Answer: IRIS

Literally a path from doomed Earth into the heavens.

Also:

Who wants to ride the Ark? Two at a time, kids, no shoving?

Wait, is there going to be a Bruce Almighty reference in this ARG? If so, I'm leaving. Crying or Very sad

I still think it's a clock, though, Urk. Just my take on it.

This image reminds me of what I envisioned a Dyson Sphere to be.

Excellent post Urk!

I was convinced in a single post that what is in the circle is a HALO.

"From blackest Earth to Brilliant Heaven."

What in this universe is heavenly? Only HALO.

As for Iris, that's what the symbol represents, as well as representing the ARK.

BTW, it's 7 at a time. The ark (of Noah) held seven of each of the clean animals, and two of the unclean ones. Also note the base-7 math of whoever made the countdown.

This brings to mind one of my "notings": the countdown in the "array transmission" is in base ten. The clock was in base seven. If one was the forerunners, then the other clearly wasn't. I suspect one was Gravemind.

Looks like an egg to me.

Hmm, maybe I'll have an omelet for lunch...

Also, not sure if this has been covered, but look at the top right hand corner of the image...? its not consistant with any other of the star shapes or types in the image. There seems to be the edge of a spherical glow estimated to be 15 times bigger than the biggest star in the image, with two pointed lines at 45 degree angles to verticle either side of it?

I think this is the most relevant thing I've read in this thread. It definitely looks like something that's cut off from another picture. Some sort of large object. Here is an expanded version:

And I agree with whoever has said it, these stars could easily have been made in photoshop. Have we laid to rest the fact that many of them are purple? I think we're just going to have to wait and see. This doesn't seem to have anything to reveal, unless the guidelines on the image (the actual numbers they correspond to) mean something.

I agree that this may be important.

Something that's been bothering me is that the lines in both the iris symbol AND the "new AR" avatar... well... only the up-facing one is actually a radial line. The iris ones look radial, but when you zoom in, they're slightly off center. ESPECIALLY the upper left one that has seen some action recently.

Go check some of the Hubble Deep Space field shots. Lots of indigo and violet to be seen. It's quite beautiful.

Would it be possible now to compare the nighttime sky in the Stary Night comercial with the footage from the flash video, thanks to Darkforce818's frame by frame slide show, and possibly the Star Map 1 as well?

Just an idea I can't follow through on myself, being trapped at work and all.
