Would it be possible now to compare the nighttime sky in the Stary Night comercial with the footage from the flash video, thanks to Darkforce818's frame by frame slide show, and possibly the Star Map 1 as well?

Just an idea I can't follow through on myself, being trapped at work and all.

Thats just the star map, I want to see if the footage I linked is in any related to the footage from the comercial. (and if the star map some how fit in with the footage from the flash video as well. . ).

I think the location of the glyph is where a planet and/or halo used to be and then when set off it resulted in the scatter of all of these stars/objects around the universe. Notice they are all dense around the glyph. So each halo has a glyph that it corresponds too and this happens to be the location and glyph of one of them. Once we get all of the servers unlocked they will shows the other locations and then we can put them all together and go from there

d'oh...edited for grammar

A friend of mine has pointed out to me that a trio of stars on the left side of the pic bear a striking resemblance to Orion's belt. I'm at school posting from my PSP right now, so I'll point it out when I get home

this is just something I thought up out of the blue after looking at the image. If you look at the glyph you'll notice that the surrounding lights are much brighter than the lights that a are further away. My guess is that the brightness of the stars (or planets in this case) depends on the amount of un-infected beings on the planets.
the reason why I think this is because if you line the flood containment image up with the star image correctly (sorry I don't know the name of the image i'm at my grandparents) the only un-infected area is the area surrounding the glyph.

No. I believe the Brightness and Hue of the stars is due to their distance from the "camera" (or whatever I should call the image's point of origin) and how old they are.

I'm not sure if this was mentioned... But it kind of looks like those symbols are similar to 343 and others... If you rotate it of course. Sadly I'm at work and don't have access to Photoshop.

It's tough when so many people are pouring over all this stuff looking for something, anything that could lead somewhere.

If you look closely at the monitors you can also see that their "eye" has the marathon logo embedded in it.

Okay, so, using Camperman's suggestion of Vega within Lyra, I noticed a few things. First, Iris the asteroid currently lies within the Lyra constellation. Next, Iris is within a stone's throw of the Pleiades, also known as the "Seven Sisters"... sounds almost too good to be true doesn't it? Unfortunately I'm at work though and I can't spend any more time trying to locate the stars on StarImage1.jpg in the ones surrounding the Pleiades.

Here is the best picture I could find of the Pleiades (most colour, Iris included, etc.)

A thought occurs. What if, instead of these glyphs and starmaps being used to locate the Halos... What if this part of the "Interactive Marketing Ploy", is actually leading up to the discovery of the Ancient's home-planet? These glyphs on the star-maps could be like... Guideposts, assuming there will be multiple star-maps like this. Some way to find important stars and constellations or whatever. Then, these could be used like the Symbols on a stargate, with the Ancient's home system in the center of all these "landmarks".
