i might be trouted for i have not read through this thread yet but, possibly the gyphs five lines possibly could pertain to the 5 servers and maybe thats the key lock, or something to do with the keys and entrance to the servers and ultimatly maybe the entrance to the index that AR was talking about, maybe thats why he used that Avatar and gyph???

so the the 5 servers are the Index maybe that count down website will soon have a key interface that has the demensions of the glyph and that we might need to move that circle around in the right order inorder to open it????

lol i just read the first page, im trouting myself but yeah i guess its good to bring up again?

I haven't discovered any new glyphs, but I'd like to offer a thought for their purpose.

In Ghosts of Onyx, the papers that Kurt receives discuss Section 3's inability to decipher the hieroglyphics, even after utilizing advanced AIs that could only deduce that the symbols had "higher-order meanings".

This would say to me that the glyphs are not intended to be deciphered as much as recognized. Yes, they indicate something is in-game. But perhaps they are also markers that will indicate two things are related, either by items that are yet to be revealed that will bare the same glyph as ones that we have already seen or perhaps revealing a sequence that other information in the source of the glyph need to be placed in. The most important piece of information from this theory, though, is that attempting to decipher them is useless, so our energies should be spent elsewhere.

There are two main problems with this theory, though. The first is that Dr. Halsey was able to decipher some of the glyphs and understand their simplified meanings. That said, she's a genius so perhaps they would not expect as much from us as Dr. Halsey.

The second and more troubling issue is that Bungie has declared that the books are pseudo-canon i.e. taken as canon until they decide otherwise. If they decide they want us to decipher the glyphs for the purposes of this game, they are just going to do it and I have wasted everybody's time. Should that be the case...my bad.

The glyphs remind me of . . .

Actually, two things:

The heating elements on my electric stove and;

the top down view of an Atari 2600 joystick . . .

Need . . . sleep . . .

countdown

maybe the 5 glyphs represent a countdown, as on the server. maybe that countdow was for the closing of the ark.

the covenant have a different way of counting time so its possible, more probable, that the forerunners had a different way as well. the cideos show that this last resort is desperate, could it be the halo activation? if the flood have gotten smart and there is no other choice, wouldn't halo be the only last resort?

P.S. im new to args so sorry if i sound stupid. Laughing

Its the paths one would take through the library if they wanted to get the index.
