[REQUEST]Plz read if you've unlocked a server. Help everyone be a winner. From ABO,
"First a quick message from the ABO staff...
If you already got a key and you know that you will be receiving a package from Bungie/Microsoft, please let the other participants of Iris have a chance to get a key to unlock a server. You have already beat the odds of being one of the 500 to be rewarded out of the possible thousands that are playing this game. CompoundIntelligence agrees with this stance as well, so it's not just ABO. Thank You..."

I agree wholeheartedly. If you disagree, that's fine, but let's take a look at it.
Suppose the first 100 to get Server 01 unlocked got each other server unlocked. That's a total of 100 people in the whole world who have five awesome packages each. Consider that there are thousands (or tens of thousands, maybe more or less) of us playing the ARG.
The moral is, be the better man (or woman; curse you political correctness!). Report the server so the others have a shot, don't get a key yourself.
So if you've unlocked a server, and swear to unlock all five yourself, then you've obviously not played an ARG properly before. Group effort.

Possibly for server 2, lots of people were really working on it on the IRC and once the link went public, well, everyone went there...

Which was how I got my key I don't normally lurk over there but when it became apparent that something was going down I made sure that the birthday bug wasn't going to be an issue, and kept my eyes peeled and the rest was down to timing.
Now personally I'd be happy with a copy of the game when it is released, 500 copies of the game wouldn't cost too much would it MS .
Giving Europeans a fair chance would be an easy way to increase the odds of winning, I'm assuming that most of the key recipients are in North America, having a friendly time for those who have to be in bed for work or school might help, I'm in a position where staying up wasn't a problem.

I've yet to receive mine, although I'm sure it takes a few weeks like the first server.

I'm not from ABO, I just went over there once and read that and thought to post it here.

This has been posted at CI also. Even before Server02 opened we had a sticky about this. I think it would show good sportsmanship if everyone would do something like this. When Server02 opened a lot of people where still out looking for clues from the halo3.com map (myself included). So a lot of people missed out because they were going the "extra mile" to help solve the puzzle. But if each Server package is different then I could see why it would be hard to refrain from opening a Server.

I don't know what ABO is, sorry. I understand that players would rather people who have already won some swag to step aside for others. I can even see how it would seem to be good sportsmanship...An aside, if Bungie wanted to prevent people from getting two packages couldn't they do that?
Just FYI, here at unfiction we refrain from telling people how to play the game. Like I said, I can see where it might be appropriate for other forums, but we don't. So, we aren't ignoring this thread or your request, it just isn't something we do here.
By the way, isn't opening the servers crucial to getting the next bits of information?
Good luck to everyone with the next round. I'm quite happy to leave this thread open if it generates discussion.

http://args.bungie.org
It's the official HBO "Iris" forum, to prevent the regular forum from being overwhelmed with ARG spec.

I'm sure they could.... but you know how people are on the internet. If people couldn't win twice they wouldn't play.
