 Hmmm

Sounds like since so many got it right, but did NOT get an email yet, we may each be getting a dime after all.

It would seem, but going through 6,000 email addresses is no swift task.

I really don't care. I already burned down the local Applebees so their price is not worth anything to me right now.

I too am waiting for my email. I disagree, 6000 emails is nothing for an automated bulk mailing script. And I have checked my spam area.

Re: Prize money?

Since 6,013 people won to share the $25,000 grand prize, then should we all be guarenteed at least $1,000? Think of it this way...

I think this method works, but only if you think of it THIS way:

  • start with $25,000
  • There are 6013 winners, so give everyone $1
  • $25,000 - $6,013 = $18,987 remaining.
  • Give everyone a second $1
  • $18,987 - $6,013 = $12,974 remaining.
  • Give everyone a third $1
  • $12,974 - $6,013 = $6,961 remaining.
  • Give everyone a fourth $1
  • $6,961 - $6,013 = $948 remaining.
  • Now give every one of those 6013 people (who currently have $4) another 10 cents, which means distributing $601.30 out of the remaining $948
  • $948.00 - $601.30 = $346.70 remaining.
  • Now give every one of those 6013 people (who currently have $4.10) another 5 cents, which means distributing $300.65 out of the remaining $346.70
  • $346.70 - $300.65 = $46.05 remaining.
  • Now our 6013 winners each have $4.15
  • Fight over the remaining $46.05, use it to buy a calculator with a division key, or pay it to me for having to type all of this out.

Have a great day everyone.

Math expertise

Great explanation to Sam and Jenn regarding the complicated math problem. Worshippy

However (IMHO), all the posts related to the dividing of $25,000 6,013 ways should probably be posted in Time Wasters. Wink

Lots of us haven't received one. I do not subscribe to the theory that "It takes a while to send out 6,000 emails". They seemed to send out the 30,000 emails (#of people they said played) every morning that stated there was new info on their site without any problems.

I've also shot off a few emails to both the SMH site and Court TV as to why I answered the same as my friend but did not receive a winning email as he did, but no response yet.

It's quite possible they just did a lotto on the 30,000 and picked the 6,000 people. That would explain it.

Winners

I also got the right answer but havent gotten a e-mail. Why have some got the e-mail and some havent??? Was there any type of clause in the rules that said the 1st so many people would win or anything?

Me Niether

I like every one else answered Grant and Cherry, and didnt get anything sent to me. But for how many of us was that our second guess?? That may have something to do with it

To save a lot of confusion, they should have sent out emails to everyone that played. Providing the true answer and whether or not you won or lost. That way, you're not sitting around wondering what the story is!

Grant and Cherry St were my first (and only) answer. Maybe I should have entered it twice.
