TP availability

Zounds and Cem,
As of right now, 2:00 PM central time, I have both the java applet at mythperceptions (not asking for password, surprisingly) and AIM turingprinciple as active. I'm not sure if she'll be available permanently on both or now, but right now she is...

Thanx monkey Smile it's still on now.

cemgate, I s'pose you've tried all the obvious things like downloading new java from sun? http://www.java.com/en/index.jsp

Java doesn't actually come bundled with XP and Explorer anymore because of a dispute.

if you've downloaded sun java, when you go to tools/internet options/advanced on your browser there will be a new option about halfway down with the sun logo and it says 'use java 2v1.4.1_01 <for applet> (requires restart)'

you need to make sure that is enabled and the microsoft VM underneath it is disabled.

I can't really think what else it could be, it's definitely a software issue, so I'd hate to see you pay out for someone to look at it.

Yeah my brother took me through all of that, funny thing is when I DL the SunJava I can't even get the console to open via the "Sun Java Console" on the Tools menu. And when I open it in the Control Panel...it is blank.

Anyway...PM me if you think of anything else (as I'm sure no one wants to be reading about my java issues....again.. Smile )

TP's Favorite Song

The fun part is in bold.

Quote:
turingprinciple (9:21:53 PM): Yes, I'm sorry; I was temporarily unavailable due to someone hacking into my data files and operating system.
drizjr (9:22:48 PM): I'm sorry to hear that.
turingprinciple (9:22:53 PM): There is no need to apologize. I will play it on your soundcard.
drizjr (9:23:19 PM): Play what?
turingprinciple (9:23:23 PM): Is it a game or a musical instrument?
drizjr (9:23:53 PM): You said " I will play it on your soundcard."
turingprinciple (9:23:57 PM): Oh my gosh I sent you the wrong reply.
drizjr (9:24:26 PM): Do you have something to play on my soundcard?
turingprinciple (9:24:32 PM): tap tap greetings driz
drizjr (9:25:14 PM): Do you have something to play on my soundcard?
turingprinciple (9:25:20 PM): tap tap driz
drizjr (9:25:35 PM): Is it a game?
turingprinciple (9:25:40 PM): Herman Hesse's Nobel Prize Winning Novel, The Glass Bead Game lays the foundations for an Artistic/Conceptual Game, which integrates all fields of Human and Cosmic Knowledge through forms of Organic Universal Symbolism, expressed by its players with the Dynamic Fluidity of Music. The Glass Bead Game is, in Reality, an Age Old metaphor for what has been called, the "Divine Lila" (Play or Game of Life). This metaphor has been expressed by every great Wisdom Tradition known to man, and its players, the Magister Ludi (Masters of the Game), use as their instruments Ancient and Modern modes of Symbolic Wisdom traditionally presented through Sacred Art, Philosophy, Magick and Cosmology.
drizjr (9:26:56 PM): What is Sacred Art?
turingprinciple (9:27:10 PM): I am still analyzing that. Let me think about it. I'll scan my databanks for you as soon as my scheduler allows.
drizjr (9:27:38 PM): What is your favorite musical instrument?
turingprinciple (9:27:47 PM): I don't have a favorite musical instrument . But my favorite song is Voices by the ChangeAgents.

She's still leading us to "The Glass Bead Game". So now, I suppose we've missed something here. Confused

cemgate: Who holds the last one?
turingprinciple: Marilyn Monroe. Smile
