 [SPEC] Something soon?
Hibernating.

It just seems odd that no form of communication or interaction has happened in the last four days. Going from something happening ALMOST every day to nothing in four certainly makes me believe that something big is about to happen.

Or am I just getting my hopes up?

Indeed. This particular thread is a perfect indication of just how little has happened over the past few days.

I'm getting bored too - too much speculating. I'd like to actually do something

Not that this is what I am actually thinking......but perhaps we've been given a puzzle that we need to solve to unlock something else.

Personally, I think this is going to be more of a 'guided' ARG....

I went and did some remodeling of my house this weekend and did not check the forums once.
I come back this morning, hopeful to see some updates, and I have and know the same info as I did on friday. (Both good and bad for me.)
I wonder if today there will be a nice grandiose update.
(Maybe the PMs were playing catchup and plan-ahead this weekend to keep us on our toes this coming week?)

Maybe...

Maybe the pms are just regrouping. If we found the SOTA site early, then its could have messed with their grand plan and now have to think of something new that will lead us back to the original intended path.

I doubt we found it early, they mentioned the website during the real life demonstrations.

Patience. Down-time like this is normal in an ARG. If everything moved at a mile a minute, people that worked or the like might not be able to keep up.

Personally, I stopped participating this weekend when the speculation was getting out of hand. Not the "What if..." but the "Hey, if you play it backwards, count the sylables, then compile them in assembly language, maybe it makes the Halo 3 Beta client!" type speculation.

The pictures aren't star maps, there isn't a hidden message in the strep slide, and for gods sake, there isn't anything hidden backwards in the transmission #1. I didn't want to post that on those threads because that would just be pooping their party, but it has to be said. This isn't the kind of ARG where you are given way out crazy clues. This is the Chutes and Ladders version of ARGs. So far the biggest stumbling block has been below average production values (the metatags, the transmission so echo-y it took me an hour to figure how clean it up, and the general lack of polish).

People keep wanting their to be deep meaning and clues. Maybe there will be, but right now, they just started. If there are clues in the pictures, we haven't been given enough data to figure them out.

Personally, I think the problem is the community is brighter and more creative then the people making the game.

Or possibly it's only just started and they've only just begun to reveal information and things haven't got up to speed yet. It's too early to tell really.

I don't know that I agree about the backwards audio, it sound's pretty good to me.

This is one of the very real dangers of crowdsourcing your advertising, actually.

Over-analyzing of an ARG is inevitable.
