If he does read this forum, and if he's interested in finding out the details of the video project for my company and wants to give me a quote, he's welcome to email me. I could go out and hire someone else but I'd certainly rather give the job to someone like him since he has already demonstrated that he has a huge amount of creativity and talent.

Do our email addresses show up in our profiles on this forum or do we have to post them in a message in order for other people to see them?

Actually, OOG I find that fact very interesting from a psychological perspective. That's one thing about this particular ARG that fascinates me. For all intensive purposes, the CM is supposed to be a kidnapper and killer, the kind of person most people would find creepy and frightening or would be disgusted by, yet there are quite a few women in this forum who obviously find him appealing and there are an equal number of men who seem to admire him as well (though in a different way, I'm sure. Very Happy ) As a writer, I find that aspect intriguing because the PM has managed to create a villain half the players are rooting for, and that's no easy feat for a storyteller. The depth of the psychology of it is quite fascinating and prompts me to explore questions about why people are drawn to such dark personalities. LOL, and as a female, it's hard to deny the appeal of the nameless, faceless stranger with the bad boy personality. Smile

Well, I admire him because he's obviously smarter than you average bear, which I respect. And he had the brass testes to do something about his situation, which a lot of people don't.

And I want to hammer him.

And all the other characters are so obviously uninteresting - I mean, come on - Mary's a f**ing idiot who thinks that because she labels something juvenile it will have less of an impact (which it doesn't because it was f***ing hilarious); Eric has questionable morals and a whine that makes the audience want to punch him, and Micheal is a midwesterner who is just icky enough and motionless enough to make us believe there isn't much redeemable about him.

If the choosing sides thing is to have any impact these characters have to become ones we empathize with. And until then the whole story is clearly one-sided.

I know everyone probably thinks I am weird but I totally dig my place in this right now. I heart the CM. I can't help it. I do. I mean, I feel bad for Eric, and I still want to help him, but I can't help that I like the fact that I have developed a sort of report with the CM over the course of this game. Besides, I almost always root for the "bad" guy. Almost always.

Pfft. Weird? It seems like at least a handful of people have rather an admiration for him. And on the personal note, I like to know that I'm not the only one who is totally fascinated with CM. Very Happy

Doesn't help that that the artist in me naturally will appreciate other art, and then the writer in me enjoys the story he's developing.. he's obviously well-read (poetry references), intelligent (duh - shouldn't need to list proof!), and then there's the fact that there's just something about the darker side. I have always found criminology, serial killers, and so on fascinating. I guess a lot of it's for the same reasons that the serial killer in the Saw trilogy ended up my favourite character! If a 'villain' can be made a deep character, I love them just as much as the 'heroes', even if it's loving to hate them. I'm betting a lot of you that favour CM are the same way.

And, of course, as has been said, his character, even though we never see his face, is more in depth and more 'likable' than the other characters. Besides, we can't really categorize good vs. evil with the greys of humanity, and obviously, we still don't know the full story.. for all we know, CM will come out of it with hardly a speck of dirt on him. Though I highly doubt it, and I would feel quite gypped if he did. LOL.

That said, I would stay on his side even if he comes out of this a completely wacked out serial killer. Disturbing of me? Mebbe.

I also heart CM, hardcore. Mr. Green

I don't recall anyone making note of it? But there was a theory being bounced around that Sue is the secret that Eric and CM share. I don't believe this makes sense -- if CM is her husband/boyfriend, why would she be his secret? Even if he is not related to her in any form (objective avenger?), I just can't see why she would be CM's secret.

It also seems like that in theories where Eric is having an affair with Sue, that it is assumed he would have to know she was married. She may have sought him out, met him at a bar and started a longer fling than intended, met him at work.. anything. It's very easy to avoid taking someone to your house, and even easier to not wear a wedding ring. There is also the possibility that Sue and CM never got married and simply had a child out of wedlock, or the child is even from a previous marriage.

EDIT: (because I'm re-watching the videos, as I said.) Also, if Eric did not know Sue was married, this could be why he stated in "My pet needs to eat" that he has no enemies and acted confused about his kidnapping. Why state that you have enemies when you feel safe that no one knows what you did; perhaps because the relationship was kept so quiet that he thought no one would connect him to Sue?

</edit>

Eric being a 17 year old babysitter and impregnating Sue isn't improbable, of course. It doesn't sit right with me though. Yet I had this thought, and I feel I should write it out just in case there is some great babysitter scandal.

So, perhaps CM is doing something with original sin.

Quote:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Original_sin

Baptism is "for the remission of sins", not only personal sins, but also of original sin, which it remits even in infants who have committed no actual sins.

According to Christian theology, original sin (also called ancestral sin, hereditary sin, birth sin, or person sin) is the fallen state of humanity...Western Christian tradition regards it as the general condition of sinfulness (lack of holiness) into which human beings are born, distinct from any actual sins that a person may or may not commit later. Eastern Christian Tradition too identifies Original Sin as physical and spiritual death, the spiritual death being the loss of "the grace of God, which quickened (the soul) with the higher and spiritual life"[1]

Others see original sin also as the cause of actual sins: "a bad tree bears bad fruit"

If Eric is the father of Russ, could he be attempting to cleanse Russ of his original sin by somehow wiping Eric clean of his own sin? Making him find god through the ordeal, viewing the torture perhaps as a way towards spiritual death and rebirth, or actual death.. maybe one of those, maybe any will work for him, and that's why he leaves it up in the air whether Eric dies or not. Because his mission will be accomplished either way.

And, also from wiki.. "This first sin ("the original sin") is traditionally understood to be the cause of "original sin" (the fallen state of humanity)."

Would tie back to Eden again, along with the baptizing of the "Sins Confessed" video. Sorry if any of this is repeat, I tried to remember all I've read. I'm not sure if he'd even make a big difference between original sin vs. regular. I'll have a sit through all the videos some more, and probably decide later than I'm a moron or f'in crazy. Ok weird theory alert...lol
What if Sue and Eric were highschool sweethearts... Eric got her pregnant she didn't tell him and her family moved to LA. Sue meets the Cm and he falls in love with Sue. Sue likes the Cm and realizes he can take care of Russ... So she marries him ... But she still loves Eric.... Fast forward it a few years... Eric pineing for Sue moves to LA to look for her... He finds her... then they couldn't stop what they had... later Sue regrets her childhood fling... because the Cm is the only father Russ ever knew.... The Cm figures it out and takes action

No weirder than my original sin spiel. Razz And it sounds as plausible a theory as any!

On another note, has anyone tried to look further into the two sunflowers in the Still Life and Death vid? I know it's at least been mentioned.

Sunflower, sunflowers, or two sunflower(s) don't seem to be anagrams, though I didn't have much hope.

Sunflowers are heliotropic, meaning that they track the sun to receive the most from it. Tried google searching sunflower + eden/adam/eve/genesis. Nothing useful - almost thought I had something with a 'sunflower model' at http://www.quodlibet.net/sharpe-science.shtml, but it was just a segue to something called the Camellia Model. Confused

Maybe he's hinting about something to do with the sun? Following the sun?

Does anyone else think that the larger sunflower on the picture is supposed to represent the sun itself? Is in the sky, after all. I still wouldn't know what to make of the small one on the ground though.

I think he used sunflowers (especially at the very end next to the code) so we would connect it to the Fibonacci number. That's the number combination needed to rotate the encrypted text into the message "Sue Hart See John 8:15" (I think).

Ah, thank you. As long as they weren't missed, I'm happy. ^_^ I know nothing about codes, so that's probably why I missed the mention of it.
