I seriously doubt that the storie ends here.... it seems like the perfect way to advertise your RPG to continue the storie throwing in game implements that way people get the gist and are given a compeling and fun story that will make them buy your product.

I really, really, REALLY hope so.

This is/was my first ARG, I was kinda hoping it would last a little longer.

thats exactly why i was wondering if anyone has tried to continue with the puzzle pieces, such as the watermark on the journal page... all i can really see is the "AR?????"

Hence the "is" in "is/was".

I think the best we got so far on the vestigial letters is RA...AN (possibly the N is a Y since you only see a small part); it's hard to tell how many letters are missing in the middle since certain letters, such as W are wider than others in most typefaces. I think it may just be a remainder of something that was on the old paper image EH superimposed the journal entry on, but maybe not.

I'm still having trouble getting into AO, but perhaps a search of terms beginning with RA might yield a place or NPC.

This is [SPEC]ulation, but I am holding on to both that the game is over and that it's not for a couple of reasons.

1) Seriously, there are a -lot- of loose threads, but instead of being unresolved story points, these could be unintentional due to the previously stated idea that they were trying to fill our need for a story.

2) Mindstorm Labs hasn't said one way or the other, which they wouldn't if it was still game on or if they hadn't figured out what was going on, yet.

There's still plenty of room for recovery.

Something clicked in yesterday, and I offer the following as a possible indicator of a physical world deaddrop:

Van on ethanhaaswasright:
Quote:
But now is our chance--I've found a safe place where we can rally together to prepare for the coming storm.

From the Midstorm Labs Summer 2007 Newsletter (emphasis mine):
Quote:
Wizard World Chicago 2007

Mind Storm Labs will be attending Wizard World Chicago from August 9-12th. Come meet the creators of Alpha Omega and some of the characters that populate the Alpha Omega universe.

Honestly, "I've helped them turn the truth into a game because it was the only way the Mezin wouldn't be able to stop in time and it makes an easy way to prepare and educate for the coming disaster." would be a pretty decent recovery move.

...has anyone else considered the possible, if the game is still on, that Van might be a Mezin agent working a complex plot as an 'outside agent'?

If there is going to be a continuation of the ARG, my guess is that we won't get any updates online until at least the conventions if not after. There are other planned updates we *might* see like the introduction of the store or the character generator. Maybe. I'm not holding my breath.

A super on-the-ball team would find a way to slip an ARG clue into the booth presentation, via a flyer, etc. But honestly, I'm expecting them to come home tired and rest up before they decide on their next move. Razz

Well, I hope the moderators keep these pages up for a while (or at least this main thread). Is anyone going to either Wizard World or GenCon Indiana?

Yea, but it just bugs me. They don't even have a product yet. Nothing to sell. Silly if you ask me...A hat maybe? Tee shirt perhaps? Ya know, just to make some money from the hype they have now.

It's just going to drop off big time...they missed the boat I think.

Did anybody go to the Wizard World convention in Chicago this past weekend? I'm just curious what Mind Storm Labs exhibit looked like.
