Not sure what to make of any of this. They spent an awful lot putting together EHWR, and a fair amount on AO, so why would these things appear to be so badly confused? I got the same emails; I don't see the point in them trying to revive the ARG now, especially since they seem to admitted themselves that they never intended it to be an ARG in the first place. It would have made much more sense to just shut down all the other sites or just redirect everything to AO. But nothing about this has made any sense from the beginning.

Could it be that its a badly written story to begin with? I often wondered how in the world did the "present day" activities of the Triton company and Van all roll up into the world of the far distant future where we are under control of these ... angle looking aliens? (got i hate that)

I think the creators of this game got rapped up in a waterfall of publicity that they were not expecting. (1-18-0Cool They rushed and put something together to take advantage of that and tried to keep up.

The RPG itself has nothing to do with present day and if you read the background story for the game...it dosnt jive with what is going on with this supposed ARG.

Why do the events in the emails, and on the websites have to be present day? Perhaps we are supposed to be playing the game as if we are somewhat in the future. However, that still does not explain how Van Mantra could still be alive when the aliens show up if he was alive before the end of the world crap started, he has to be several hundred years old, this would mean that he is not human.

I kinda like the theory that Van is part grigori. (for those of you who don't know, the Mezin are also grigori)

I like the theory that Van is the equivalent of the "Dread Pirate Mantra", where the name "Van Mantra" is simply a title that gets propagated through generations. That would explain why Van exists both in the 21st and 23rd centuries.

looks like its too late to really get everything going again but the mezin are posting on ethanhaaswaswrong again.

Might be seeing the ARG pick up again now that the game is on it's way and not everyone in office there is working on the monsters manual.
