Does it strike anyone else as odd that in order to get a copy of the Triton Enterprises image, first you have to view source, call up the referenced css file, then call up a second css file that the first one references, and then you find the URL to the image?

or, you could just right-click on the image and select "View Background Image" from the context menu... (at least that's how i do it in Firefox)

Heh. Granted. But my point is that from a design standpoint, it seems like the only reason to do it the way they did would be to call attention to it.

Hmm, IMHO nothing odd or trying to get attention - they just make it ready for more complex site (CSS template). Nothing odd if u ask me, just standart webdesign.

It's not the use of CSS that's the weird part. The point was that to get to the image you have to (1) view source, (2) call up the referenced CSS file, (3) call up the SECOND css file, referenced by the first, and (4) only then find the actual CSS including the referenced image.

That's not, typically, how it's done.

[quote=theonetruebix]I suspect that Triton might be a front for Van Mantra to get more word out about Ethan Hass and his "vision(s)" of the "future". He has said recently, via email, that he needed a new way to get his message out because the Mezin were on to him.
So I think Triton was invented by Van and dummied up.

Maybe, but I'm not entirely sure. Here's the auto response email from Triton:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Thank you for your interest in Triton Enterprises.

Please excuse the mess as we are just moving into our new operating
space. Our new website should be online in a few days,
www.tritonenterprises.net

We here at Triton Enterprises take pride in our R&D and manufacturing
abilities
in aerospace and defense work. Our industry leading design
in radiator retractor hoses and cold plate circuity design is second
to none.

Triton Enterprises is also working on advanced R&D, stay tuned for
more information as we make humanity better.

They sound kind of like the kind of people that could've stopped Ethan Haas' prophecy from coming true but didn't....

That John talks about what the company does is not necessarily telling us anything. "John" could just be Van acting out the part properly, because for the Triton front to hide him properly, it needs to look, talk, and behave like a real company.

That very well could be, but.... then again it could be telling us something. I wouldn't write it off entirely just yet.

In fact yes - that its, exactly how its on some more complicated just XHTML+CSS designated sites done. They have templates for some parts of pages (or design changes of some parts) and link them even through other CSS files. In fact some CSS are often generated by scripts (even with including different CSS subfiles). Really nothing weird from my point of view.

Beside what i said, in modern browsers get that image its no deal - just one click away. So i really dont think, this is something to pay attention.

And speaking of size - hmm, i think its badly optimized, it can be about half of its current size, but i dont expect there will be something inside. But didnt give it a try yet.

Do you understand what it is they say they make? I'll translate for you (Engineer to English) : we make the cooling devices used in radar systems, nightvision, and other high performance aerospace electronic circuitry along with the piping used to connect it to a radiator to vent the heat. To further help you visualize it, its basically a heat pipe and heat sink combo unit as you might find on your CPU, but a much larger scale.

So they're basically an intercooler company?
Sorry, engineering's not my expertise.

Close, but not quite. An intercooler is basically a radiator, right? Imagine a giant metal plate. This plate has copper tubing running through it. Inside the tubing is some form of coolant. This plate is then connected to a radiator via tubing. The effect is to wick heat away from the plate and over to the radiator where it is vented. The cold plate is the big piece of metal that connects to the intercooler.

Its used for high performance electronics that require low temperatures to work correctly or that are required to be placed in an area where they won't be able to vent their heat properly. The cold plate helps facilitate that heat transfer.

Hopefully some of that makes sense.

Oh, okay, thanks! I feel less stupid, now Smile
So, ultimately it IS a front....

theory

I have a theory based off of a couple of the Ethan Haas ARG things. Has nothing to do with the Abrams movie.

The Sanskrit on http://www.ethanhaaswaswrong.blogspot.com/ was translated at saying something along the lines of "We have been here since mankind fought with sticks and bones, your technology may have improved but can the same be said for the human mind"

The end of the Triton Enterprises message says "Triton Enterprises is also working on advanced R&D, stay tuned for
more information as we make humanity better."

What defense company would talk about making humanity better? What company in general would talk about making humanity better?

The Sanskrit mentions that the Mezin have been around (at least checking in on) earth since at least the Stone Age of humanity. They have seen a rise in man's technology over the years, but seem frustrated about us as beings. My theory is that they have decided to change the human race either by increasing our mental capacity or softening our natural warlike tendancies.

To achieve this aim they may be looking to wipe out most if not all of humanity just to start over with a more improved race. This would be the "End" of humanity, as well as the "Beginning" of the new race.

Just a theory, something to think about as new information surfaces.

Has anyone noticed how often the number 9 is showing up around these sites and the trailer?

Is there anything you can do with www.1-18-08.com other than move pics around? does this warrant a different thread?

Well, you could take it to one of the 1-18-08 threads instead of this Ethan Haas thread.
