It's Fredericton. But, wait what? Where?

The company that both the proprieter of Royoma (WorldQuest's webdesigner) design and Verus Consulting (one of Royoma's clients, with a quote from TM on their webpage) worked for, LearnStream, is in Fredericton.

There's more but it is way too behind the curtain for public message boards. Like peoples church group sites and such (you can find anything on the Great Googly Woogly). I knew I saw the city name though.

:Edit: Added link to Yahoo Financial page about LearnStream.

I still don't think the possibility that the letter is real makes it special.

It might not be. But it's also very legitimate to look at it and see, because it's a valid means of playing out part of the game, if one can establish its credibility.

(And then, from my perspective, I just like collecting chains of evidence between EHWR and MSL, because some people still don't believe it.)

You're right. I should have said that it's the content of the note that would make it special, not that it was really hand delivered.

Supposing that letter is legit, the fact that the first letters on every row contains three 'w's kind of leaps out to me. A new url?
This has been proven bogus.

Oh? Where?

I would also like to know how this was proven one way or the other?

Faeriemage, can you please proove to me that this letter is bogus. I must have missed the person flaming a post from a different forum. Perhaps we should have an open mind an assume that i'm not some jerk who's trying to start shit for no reason. I'm trying to get to the bottom of this just like everyone else.

I might be wrong, but I read the above as "the idea that the first letters form a new URL is bogus", not that the letter is.

At any rate, based on conversation here and some digging (as I've posted here and to the blog in my sig), it's fairly clear that the puppetmasters would have the connections, associates, or acquaintances in New Brunswick to pull this off once they saw someone in Fredericton was playing the game.

Ah perhaps. I just wanted to bring attention to this letter because obviously whoever sent it to A.S. wants this letter to be found and analyzed.

Holy SH*T
go**ammit....

Shocked

WOW. I've been away from my computer for three days and 20 pages pop up....

I've tried to catch up... but it's gotten a little confusing....

If anyone would like to explain what the F**K is going on to me, i'd be more than appreciative.

(that is to say... anyone who feels they have the time and energy to recap the last few days of intense action, starting with the press release on triton, complete with links, spoiler it, and put it up on the forums, i would be GREATLY APPRECIATIVE. Not that you have to.)

Yeah. I'm just not seeing anything in it yet to suggest it's anything other than, "Let's freak them out!"

There's no obvious code (although it was smart for someone to notice the repeating Ws and look to see if it meant a URL), so unless we're missing something, or there's something else on the actual paper letter or any envelope it might have come in, I'm just not sure. Heh.

I will have another look at the envelope and letter to see if there are any clues.

Is there any way that '279 fh 7691', '417st jn Eh', and '6 ld 9102' are some kind of astronomical monikers? I don't know much about astronomy but I do know there are multiple names for stars.

Also, at the rate it's going, assuming there'll be more journal pages popping up at all, I'd say we should watch for info on Rukbah ('knee' - Delta Cassiopeiae), Segin (Epsilon Cassiopeiae), Zeta Cassiopeiae (which has no nice short name), or Achird (Eta Cassiopeiae). Three stars of Cassiopeia down, several more to go?

Intereresting, probably unrelated: Achird is more or less the same kind of star as our sun, and looks the same to us as if we observed our sun from somewhere in the vicinity of Achird.

Also, hi: long-time lurker, first-time poster, inveterate note-taker. Apologies if I repeated something, but I tried to comb through the 38 pages of posts first and don't think I did.

Oh and speaking of stars Triton is Neptune's largest moon. Feel free to trout if it's been said.

Any meteor showers schedualed for the end date (08/01/07)? Just a thought.

The New Brunswick Letter

I'm not sure it matters if the letter is genuine. I don't see how it could contain any clues if other people didn't get it. After all, you could have easily thrown it out or used it to line a litterbox, rather than share it with everyone. I can't imagine any point in delivering a one-off letter like this, therefore I call BS on this. Either it's a complete fake, or someone is pulling your leg.

I tried looking into this, but if you think ARGs are complicated, try figuring out how to use the various Star Catalogs that are available online. Complicating things, there's several standards used for cataloging stars, so you have to check several. I'll see if I can come up with anything on the remaining Cassiopeia stars.

Interesting side note: Cassiopeia was the wife of Cepheus, king of Ethiopia; she claimed that she was more beautiful than the Nereids (sea nymphs), so Poseidon (sometimes it's Ammon) sent a sea-monster to Ethiopia. Cepheus was preparing to sacrifice their daughter, Andromeda, to the sea monster, when she was rescued by Perseus. Later, after Cassiopeia died, Poseidon placed her among the stars in a chair, but she's upside down (her back is in the seat of the chair), with her legs up in the air, as further punishment for her pride.

In short, Cassiopeia is an archetype of human vanity.
